When looking for a name for our little girl due in [name_f]September[/name_f], hubby and I just couldn’t agree. He has a weird trendy style, and I love southern sounding classics. He was also very very persistent that her name start with a J because his, mine and our sons also do. We “decided” on [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], and I plan to call her [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] or [name_f]Liv[/name_f]. However, I just can’t see [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] as her name. There’s nothing really wrong with the name, I just can’t see myself using it and loving it. Does that sound crazy? haha. Anyways, names we both liked were [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (popularity was a problem), [name_f]Layla[/name_f] (our neighbor just used this one). I love [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f], etc. He liked [name_u]Kendall[/name_u], [name_f]Serena[/name_f], [name_f]Jada[/name_f] Etc… I just need some fresh ideas. Any suggestions that I can give to him that fit in either catergory? Thank you!
Not crazy at all! It is good to question it now, rather than later.
If you love [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and planned on calling [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]- [name_f]Liv[/name_f] or [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] how about naming her [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] or some variation of [name_f]Liv[/name_f].

If you like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Layla[/name_f], have you considered [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] (lil-ee-uh)? It combines the two name perfectly and compliments both your style and your husband’s style.
Also, please don’t use a ‘j’ name if there aren’t any that you love. You shouldn’t feel obligated to keep the theme because if you have a third, would you use one for that child, too? If not, there is no point in doing it now.
I happen to love [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], but if it’s not working for you, that’s ok!
