cant decide on girl name

[name]Hi[/name] - we are having trouble deciding on a girl name - please let me know what you think of these girls names - how you perceive them and which you like.

[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]
[name]Ella[/name]
[name]Lila[/name]

I think that all of these are fairly similar-- classic, feminine, elegant names. My favorites are: [name]Julia[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Lila[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name]. You could make some nice combinations with these names too. Here are some possibilties:

[name]Julia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Julia[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Lila[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Emma[/name]

also i am worried that some of these names have a built in idea of the type of girl you would expect when hearing the name - i wnat a name that does not come with a preconceived notion of the type of girl she would be base don the name. please let me know if you think any of these carry a specific image with them

They are all nice names and I would be happy to meet a baby with any of these names.

[name]Julia[/name] - I love this. I’m not positive why, a lot fo people feel like it’s dated - but I think it’s soft and sweet, but still an ultimate classic and will be beautiful and age appropriate at every stage of life.

[name]Juliet[/name] - same as [name]Julia[/name], but a tad edgier.

[name]Charlotte[/name] - I appreciate it, but I have never loved it - I just don’t care for the sound. I think it’s super classy, it will age well, has great nickname potentials - it HAS gotten very popular recently.

[name]Amelia[/name] - Same as [name]Charlotte[/name] - I’ve never LOVED it, but its still a nice name. VERY popular, but it will age well and has some nice nickname possibilities.

[name]Emma[/name] - I’ve always liked [name]Emma[/name], but it feel so generic these days. I would prefer to see [name]Emilia[/name] ([name]Emma[/name] + [name]Amelia[/name]?), [name]Emmeline[/name] or even Emmelise?

[name]Ella[/name] - pretty, but a tad nickname-ish and oh, so very popular.

[name]Lila[/name] - I think this is simple and pretty and I don’t know why this feels complete and [name]Ella[/name] does not, but I think [name]Lila[/name] is chic, sophisticated and will work on every age.

[name]Julia[/name]- I adore this name. It’s globally-friendly (having an equivalent in almost every romance language), endearing, and upbeat. It’s also very classic-sounding, but still manages to sound fresh and new unlike other classic names.

[name]Juliet[/name]- I’m very tired of this name. Yes, it’s Shakespearean, but it’s way too overused. I get that it’s romantic but you could do so much better.

[name]Charlotte[/name]- Classically plain. Has the same feel as [name]Sarah[/name] to me.

[name]Amelia[/name]- A great alternative to the over-popular [name]Emily[/name]. It’s sweet, soft, and has great nn potential.

[name]Emma[/name]- I don’t understand the mass appeal of this name. It’s too popular and sounds very plain to me.

[name]Ella[/name]- I really like [name]Ella[/name]. It’s kind of quirky but can still hold its own against the hugely popular Charlottes and Emmas.

[name]Lila[/name]- It’s a fine name; I’ve just never been a fan.

love [name]Julia[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name]

anyone else?

[name]Julia[/name] - Not my favorite name but I think it “works” on almost every girl if that makes sense.
[name]Juliet[/name] - Same as [name]Julia[/name]. I think I prefer it a little to [name]Julia[/name] though.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - I never loved this name but it’s been growing on me lately and I’m starting to really like it.
[name]Amelia[/name] - I like it but I prefer [name]Emelia[/name]/ [name]Emilia[/name] by a long shot.
[name]Emma[/name] - [name]Way[/name] too popular for me. I know a ton of little Emmas.
[name]Ella[/name] - Not quite as popular as [name]Emma[/name] but it’s heading there.
[name]Lila[/name] - I know a little girl named this and I didn’t love it until I saw it on a real child but now I’m a fan.

[name]Julia[/name]- I think of the Beatles song, which really makes this name sound beautiful. [name]Julia[/name] is so harmonious and pretty. I think it peaked in popularity a while back, but it doesn’t go out of style.

[name]Juliet[/name]- I disagree with OkBrielle on this one. I think [name]Juliet[/name] is a classic name, like [name]Julia[/name], so it’s impossible for it to sound really trendy or to go out of style. Also, [name]Juliet[/name] is a wonderful Shakesperean character- courageous, independent, poetic…

[name]Charlotte[/name]- [name]Charlotte[/name] is sophisticated, a chic city-girl name. But then there’s the [name]Charlotte[/name]'s [name]Web[/name] association that brings the name down to [name]Earth[/name]. I like it a lot. I think it’s got a lovely seriousness to it, like [name]Margaret[/name]. And it doesn’t try to be elegant, it just is, like [name]Audrey[/name].

[name]Amelia[/name]- Not my style. For some reason I associate [name]Amelia[/name] with passivity. Maybe because it shares a root with “ameliorate.”

[name]Emma[/name]- I’m an [name]Emma[/name]. Very much a fan. I have a longer [name]Em[/name] name but go by [name]Emma[/name], which feels stronger and simpler than my full name. [name]Emma[/name] has a calm warmth to it that I like. I do think [name]Emma[/name] is a bit lacking in frills though, and it requires a spicier, more unusual middle name to vamp it up a bit.

[name]Ella[/name]- I love the sound of the name [name]Ella[/name], and of course [name]Ella[/name] [name]Fitzgerald[/name] is an incredible namesake. But I think if you’re going to name your kid [name]Ella[/name], you should have some personal connection to the music of [name]Ella[/name] Fitgerald. That’s just me- I know it’s weird. I guess I meet a lot of spoiled children of yuppies named [name]Miles[/name] and [name]Ella[/name], and I think it’s a strange phenomenon.

[name]Lila[/name]- To me, [name]Lila[/name] sounds like a nickname for [name]Delilah[/name], a name I prefer (despite the Biblical femme-fatale association.) Nothing offensive about [name]Lila[/name], but to me, it doesn’t have as much personality as your other names.

So which one is your favorite?

Ok I take back my comment about [name]Lila[/name] not having personality. It has personality. [name]Just[/name] feels a bit incomplete to me.

[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]
[name]Ella[/name]
[name]Lila[/name]

I love all of then except [name]Ella[/name] (don’t know why), but all the other choices you have are beautiful, very girly and feminine. My favourite is amelia and i like [name]Lila[/name] spelt [name]Lilah[/name]. You could chose any of them, good luck.

[name]Julia[/name] – I love this name. It is truly beautiful, feminine, and sophisticated without going overboard.
[name]Juliet[/name] – Another very pretty name!
[name]Charlotte[/name] – Beautiful, elegant name!
[name]Amelia[/name] - I’m not a big fan.
[name]Emma[/name] - ditto
[name]Ella[/name] - ditto
[name]Lila[/name] - It’s okay.
