Can't decide on name-order! This is to go with big sis Amaré (Amma-RAY) Elyse

See the results of this poll: Find out Girl or Boy in 3 weeks! Help me decide on name order!

Respondents: 12 (This poll is closed)

  • Girl: Carys Naomi Anderson : 6 (50%)
  • Naomi Carys Anderson : 4 (33%)
  • Boy: Marcellus Job Anderson (nn Joby) : 1 (8%)
  • Job Marcellus Anderson (nn Joby): 1 (8%)

Sorry! If you have a second, just write in the other b/g name that you prefer. If not, no worries. My mistake!

I’m trying to figure this site out. Maybe I should just re-do this poll (to make it multiple choice) and put it in a different forum to get some people to respond. I’m not sure what makes people want to comment/help out?

[name]Naomi[/name] is my preference for a girl. I don’t like the repetitive “s” sounds of [name]Carys[/name] [name]Anderson[/name] (these two also blend into each other). If you’re calling your son [name]Joby[/name], then his first name should be [name]Job[/name]. However, I pronounce it “jobe” like the Book of [name]Job[/name] in the Bible not job (the profession). Some people may mispronounce it.

Thank you, [name]Mischa[/name]! That’s a great point about the “s” sounds. I had never thought of that.

Yes, we pronounce it [name]Job[/name] (rhymes with “[name]Robe[/name]”), since it is a Biblical name. Yes, people will mispronounce, but that’s not the worst thing in the world. It’s not too hard to correct such a simple name, I think.

Good point about [name]Job[/name] being the first name. I think that too, mostly, but not sure I like it first.

I am now also toying with the idea of [name]Caius[/name] [name]Marcel[/name] (nn [name]Cai[/name]).

Thanks for your input!

I prefer [name_m]Job[/name_m] Marcelllus to [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] [name_m]Job[/name_m].

And I’d go with the traditional [name_f]Naomi[/name_f].

Thanks for your input! We found out we’re having a boy, and we DID decide on [name_m]Job[/name_m] [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m]. I’m even pumped about how much we’re falling in love with the name [name_m]Job[/name_m] (and calling him [name_u]Joby[/name_u]). Almost no one uses it, but we love it!
