Our planned c-section is coming up on [name_f]May[/name_f] 25th and we still don’t have a name for our baby girl!
We have a 7 year old son named [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].
Our last name is 4 syllables so we are trying to stick with a 1 or 2 syllable first name.
We both love [name_f]Mae[/name_f] for a middle name, a play on her birth month. I also love [name_f]Lily[/name_f] for a middle name, which is the flower of [name_f]Susan[/name_f], my mother.
Here are the options we are considering :
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] - been on our list since the very beginning
Vaida or [name_f]Vada[/name_f] (I feel like this vibes with [name_m]Zane[/name_m] well)
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] - i love, hubby just came around to it
[name_f]Zara[/name_f] (pronounced ZAH-[name_m]RA[/name_m], not like [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] - does this spelling read like that? What about it being another Z name…too much?)
[name_f]Preslee[/name_f]…I love but too trendy maybe?
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] - I really like the meaning of [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. It feels magical.
[name_f]Vada[/name_f] - I prefer the spelling [name_f]Veda[/name_f]. When I see [name_f]Vada[/name_f] I wonder how to say it. [name_f]Veda[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] would be a very pretty name.
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] - I love this, but I also feel like [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] sounds too country, and [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a mouthful.
[name_f]Zara[/name_f] - too much with [name_m]Zane[/name_m], if both names were written down by someone with bad handwriting you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart!
[name_f]Preslee[/name_f] - too trendy for sure. Not as sophisticated as [name_m]Zane[/name_m].
I think [name_f]Veda[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] would be the most beautiful. [name_f]Veda[/name_f] and [name_m]Zane[/name_m] look wonderful together.
I also love [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_m]Zane[/name_m] are perfect.
I also think the name [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] would be absolute perfection. I know it looks a little light but to me that fits because it reminds me of sunshine!
I like [name_f]Zara[/name_f] best from your list but [name_m]Zane[/name_m] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f] does seem a bit matchy-matchy/themed. Although, [name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]/[name_f]May[/name_f] does flow quite well, as does [name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. The others I like from your list are [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] flows well and has such a nice vintage quality. [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is positively ethereal. [name_f]Vada[/name_f] isn’t all that pretty to me and [name_f]Preslee[/name_f] seems too trendy/made-up. Best of luck
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_f]Vada[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] are beautiful! I also love [name_f]Zara[/name_f], but afraid of the matching… but it isn’t too bad!!
I like [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Veda[/name_f] the best. I love the name [name_f]Zara[/name_f], but unless you’re willing to deal with loads of comments about your Z-themed naming style, I would avoid it. Plus most people in the States (if that’s where you live) won’t pronounce it the way you want and your child will spend a lifetime correcting it.
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] - I like this, but I don’t think it flows that well with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (seems like I’m the only one who thinks that, though!). It also feels a bit trendy.
Vaida or [name_f]Vada[/name_f] - Not fond of any of these. What about [name_u]Vida[/name_u] (vee-dah)? It has a similar sound and means ‘life’.
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] - I’m torn on this one; I like it as a middle, but find it too lacking as a FN. Maybe [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Harlow[/name_f]?
[name_f]Zara[/name_f] - Wouldn’t choose this if you are planning to have more than two kids as you might feel forced to continue the ‘Z’ theme. It’s also very similar to [name_m]Zane[/name_m] - not sure if you mind that.
[name_f]Preslee[/name_f] - Yes, too trendy and feels masculine beside [name_m]Zane[/name_m].
Not sure if you wanted suggestions, but here are my two cents. Have you considered a variation of [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as the first name, like [name_f]Maia[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f] or perhaps even [name_f]Maven[/name_f]? When I read through your lists [name_u]Romy[/name_u] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] also came to mind.
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Maven[/name_f] both came to mind. I love [name_f]Maven[/name_f], hubby doesn’t like it at all. After reading the opinions, I think I do see [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] more as a middle name.
I haven’t thought about [name_u]Romy[/name_u] but I like that as well, and it seems to fit well with [name_m]Zane[/name_m]. [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] I love, but it’s pretty popular in my area right now. Thanks for the feedback!
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeva[/name_f] would be really pretty and still keep that [name_f]May[/name_f]-sound.
[name_f]Maeva[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Zara[/name_f] and [name_f]Vada[/name_f] will cause some pronunciation issues and [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_f]Preslee[/name_f], and [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] sound very trendy with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Mae[/name_f]–and with [name_m]Zane[/name_m] (which while unusual, isn’t really the same imo).
