I went with [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] because of the 2-syllable first name and 3-syllable mn-- it seemed pretty similar to [name]Clara[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name].
[name]Hi[/name] everyone, I’ve been noticing that a lot of you (well 3 out of 4 so far) have been voting for [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]. But I have just noticed that [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Jacqueline[/name] kind of rhyme, and even though those are both the middle names, I feel like it could bother me in the future. Please give your thoughts about this, as I would very much appreciate it :)! Also, I am very anxious to know why no one has voted for “Eve Claribelle” yet. I really loved this name, and I think that because of the whole Catherine Jacqueline thing, it might be the front runner, but I am still havng trouble deciding. Also, I just thought that maybe if I spelled it “Katheryn” it might not be as much of a problem for me. Katheryn? Catheryn? Kathryn? Cathryn? I just don’t know :D!
[name]Hi[/name], I voted for [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], as my daughter’s mn is [name]Catherine[/name], which I just love. We actually pronounce it as 2 syllables, not 3. The ‘e’ in the middle is silent.
I thought that nowadays a lot of people pronounce with the “e” silent. It could just be me and my family, though.
I don’t think [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Jacqueline[/name] are too close, especially for mn’s! It is a nice tie-in, actually.
I love [name]Eve[/name] [name]Claribelle[/name]! I think it’s perfect!
[name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Jacqueline[/name] don’t bother me, but [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] both end in -a, so I picked [name]Blythe[/name]. I also think [name]Blythe[/name] matched the style of the other names better.
[name]Eliza[/name] is pronounced a million different ways.
[name]Blythe[/name] has always sounded very harsh to me.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eve[/name]!!!
[name]Blythe[/name] has always sounded so harsh to you? I’ve always thought the opposite. To me, [name]Blythe[/name] sounds calm and peaceful.
I agree that [name]Blythe[/name] always sounded harsh to me as well.
Here are my thoughts…
[name]Eve[/name] [name]Claribelle[/name] is a pretty combo but I find [name]Claribelle[/name]/[name]Marielle[/name]/[name]Clara[/name] are too matchy. I find [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Marielle[/name] a bit matchy too with the “ar” sound but that’s just me!
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] is a gorgeous combo and with [name]Jacqueline[/name] as [name]Clara[/name]'s mn rather than a first name it’s not a big issue for me. The French pronunciation of [name]Jacqueline[/name] is "zhak-LEEN " so it’s a little different from [name]Catherine[/name]. Definitely leave it spelled [name]Catherine[/name]. I’ve never been a fan of y’s in [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name]/[name]Katharine[/name].
[name]Blythe[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] is an unusual combo but it flows beautifully. [name]Blythe[/name] is a better “fit” with [name]Wren[/name] Aibilene than the other two more feminine names of [name]Marielle[/name] and [name]Clara[/name].
RATING:
1 [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
2 [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
3 [name]Eve[/name] [name]Claribel[/name]
It seems now that [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] is winning! Wow, what a comeback, I thought everyone was voting for [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]!
I love all of the names!
I voted for [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]. I’ve never met anyone with this name, and I think that it has such a rare beauty to it. It’s meaning is a lovely and uplifting one, which is perfect for a little girl.
I didn’t vote for [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] because I just think [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Jacqueline[/name] are too close in sound. I didn’t vote for [name]Eve[/name] [name]Claribelle[/name] for a few reasons. [name]One[/name], I think having a [name]Clara[/name], [name]Marielle[/name] and [name]Claribelle[/name] is just too much; two, [name]Claribelle[/name] reminds me of the clown; and finally, three, it also reminds me of the cartoon cow. /: There’s another reason why I didn’t vote for those two, though. I just don’t feel that they can match the light and beautiful sounding [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]!
I was actually thinking the same thing about [name]Jacqueline[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name] sounding too similar, until some of the other posts reassured me that it was fine. Now I don’t know what to think!
I love [name]Eve[/name] but [name]Claribelle[/name] is a little silly sounding for my taste to be honest. But, I think it’s fine overall and I think [name]Eve[/name] is the best fit.
[name]Eliza[/name] is also a really good fit, I don’t think [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Jacqueline[/name] are all that similar and it’s a good pairing. But what about [name]Eve[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]? Or [name]Eve[/name] [name]Catalina[/name], [name]Eve[/name] [name]Katerina[/name] to make it flashier (in a good way to my ear). Or [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]? [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Margo[/name]/[name]Margot[/name]? [name]Eve[/name] [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Eve[/name] [name]Margo[/name]/[name]Margot[/name]?
I agree with pp’s about [name]Blythe[/name] having a harsh sound to me. It’s that initial BL, it’s a soft enough ending, but somehow the name makes me think of bleh, blargh, etc. I’m sure if I met a [name]Blythe[/name] I wouldn’t think that much about it, and obviously actress [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Danner[/name] (do I have that name right?) has made it work enough for her, and not everyone feels that way, but I just wanted to explain where I think the negative reaction from some is coming from.
Anyway, [name]Eve[/name] is ultimately my vote here.
Good luck!
Oh, dear… I didn’t mean to confuse you! You pronounce [name]Catherine[/name] (KATH-ryn) and [name]Jacqueline[/name] ([name]JACK[/name]-lyn), right? To me, that’s too close.
Maybe it doesn’t matter because they’re in the middle spot and won’t be used as much?
Actually, I pronounce [name]Jacqueline[/name] (ja-qu-lin).
