Can't find a good name... Sibling's name is Isla

We are looking for an interesting name that will go along with [name]Isla[/name] [name]Sofi[/name] (which is her older sister)…

Problem is, I work in public school and see many children along the years with names I could never use on my own child.

We were thinking of [name]Beatrice[/name], but this baby is NOT a [name]Beatrice[/name]… Then [name]Arden[/name], but a student said it sounded like Hard-On.

We like Northern European names, Literary names, or what my students would call “smart kid names”.

I like [name]Arden[/name] :frowning: What about [name]Harper[/name]?
Some other names I think of as “smart” are [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Sawyer[/name], [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Gwen[/name], and [name]Emery[/name]

Not sure about “smart kid names,” but I love literary ones! And I tried to scrounge up a few Northern European ones, too. With [name]Isla[/name] [name]Sofi[/name], you might consider these…

[name]Flannery[/name] (nn [name]Annie[/name] or [name]Anna[/name], [name]Flick[/name]; for Ms. O’[name]Connor[/name], of course)
[name]Maeve[/name] (Binchy, plus it just sounds awesome with [name]Isla[/name])
[name]Rosalind[/name] or [name]Rosamund[/name] ([name]Shakespeare[/name])
[name]Georgia[/name] (honors [name]George[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] and other famous Georgias…)
[name]Winifred[/name] ([name]Tuck[/name] Everlasting)
[name]Amoret[/name] ([name]Spenser[/name]'s Faerie [name]Queen[/name])
[name]Louise[/name] or [name]Louisa[/name] ([name]May[/name] [name]Alcott[/name])
[name]Edith[/name] ([name]Wharton[/name])
[name]Lilia[/name] (E.M. [name]Forster[/name] character)
[name]Jane[/name] ([name]Austen[/name])
[name]Marilla[/name] ([name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables)
[name]Rowena[/name] ([name]Ivanhoe[/name])
[name]Virginia[/name] ([name]Wolfe[/name])
[name]Aphra[/name] (Behn)
[name]Avalon[/name] (a little like [name]Arden[/name], but more literary?)
[name]Silvia[/name] ([name]Shakespeare[/name]; [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Silvie[/name] are cute!
[name]Camilla[/name] ([name]Dumas[/name])
[name]Matilda[/name] (nn [name]Tilda[/name]? Literary and northern European?)

I love [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Arden[/name] but I can’t see them being sisters. [name]Arden[/name] is very unisex whereas [name]Isla[/name] is such a popular girls name and seems way too feminine. So what I’m saying is if I saw a sibset of [name]Isla[/name] & [name]Arden[/name], I’d assume [name]Arden[/name] was a boy.

[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Beatrice[/name] would be stunning, and I love them together.

Other ideas…
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Margaux[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Niamh[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Norah[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Stella[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Hermione[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Bethany[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Heidi[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Edith[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Georgina[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Victoria[/name]

[name]Isla[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] and [name]Emerson[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] and [name]Alma[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] and [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name]

I love the suggestion of [name]Maeve[/name] with [name]Isla[/name] [name]Sofi[/name]. [name]Gwen[/name] is also complementary. I don’t think [name]Arden[/name] or [name]Harper[/name] go at all with [name]Isla[/name], a bit too boyish or surnameish, and certainly not European. Other ideas:

[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Wren[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & Aven
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Clara[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Maren[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Evie[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] & [name]Maude[/name]
