Can't get over Scarlett

I just can’t seem to move past [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] for our girls name. There seem to be so many more hipster/nature/vintage names that we agree on for boys, but when it comes to girls DH thinks I’m crazy haha. But [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] has everything I like in a girl’s name and it feels like it just fits us! I also like the potential nn [name_u]Scout[/name_u] or [name_f]Lettie[/name_f]. I also like how it pairs with our top boys name atm [name_m]Fox[/name_m].

The main put off for me is the popularity factor (although I don’t personally know anyone with this name) and wondering if I will be regret not choosing something more unique? We also like the idea of using [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] in the middle to honour DH’s mom, but with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] it feels too basic/90s to me! [name_u]Jean[/name_u] is her mn which could also be another option.

What are you thoughts? And what middle would you put with it to sell it for me?

I don’t think [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is super popular, it’s a nice name, you should definitely use it.

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is nice and I’ve only ever actually met one despite the popularity. I also think [name_f]Lettie[/name_f] and [name_u]Scout[/name_u] are great nicknames - especially [name_u]Scout[/name_u]!!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about a name with similar sounds/letters to [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and [name_u]Jean[/name_u] as a possible second middle?

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Viveca[/name_f] ([name_u]Jean[/name_u])
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Viviana[/name_f] ([name_u]Jean[/name_u])
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] ([name_u]Jean[/name_u])
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Astoria[/name_f] ([name_u]Jean[/name_u])
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] ([name_u]Jean[/name_u])
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] ([name_u]Jean[/name_u])
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Ivana[/name_f] (variation of [name_u]Jean[/name_u] + v sounds of [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]?)

Some other general middles

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Talullah[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Eudora[/name_f]

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is beautiful. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]?

I love [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]! The popularity has always been a concern of mine as well but I’ve only met one, who was born earlier this year. Everyone who knew the mom thought the name was so unique (I, being the only name nerd, knew the truth lol but didn’t say anything) so that suggests to me that they didn’t know another one either. This was in the Midwest USA, if that helps.

I too can’t get over [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]! I think it is beautiful, strong, and feminine… all the qualities I’m looking for in a name. I can’t really help with a middle name though

I only know one, but it does feel fairly trendy since the popularity rose so quickly. The similarity to popular [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is also a negative. But I think it fits well with the other names on your list, though.

Middle ideas:

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Imogene[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Maude[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]

I don’t know anyone named [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]…the only use of the name I know personally is the spelling [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f], which is the middle name of a friend (mid-30s). She is a fierce [name_m]Scorpio[/name_m] & goes by [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] in some online forums.

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is my number 1 pick at the moment as well. My favourite combo is [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]

I used to be so in love with it, then somehow I’m not anymore. But I can remember why: it’s romantic, strong and pleasurable to say! I would go with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] over [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] - which could be a noun (red gene) though I get that it has a sort of sweet southern vibe. I like some of other suggestions. If I were going with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], I would pair it with [name_u]Clare[/name_u], [name_f]Neve[/name_f], [name_f]Cambria[/name_f], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Briar[/name_f], [name_f]Alessia[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] or [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], but it seems more important to have a name that’s significant to you!

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is adorable!

Living in the UK, this name is somewhat popular. Due to personal associations I dislike the name, also find the ‘scar’ part a little unattractive. It is however, a very pretty colour and if i met a [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] who was nice, I would not think much about the name.

Personally, I rarely dislike names (normally feel neutral about those I do not like, love, or adore) but [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] falls under the dislike category. I do not care for the scar part or the sound. I have never known or met a [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. In the US [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] was most popular in 2017. “For 2017, the number of births with name [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is 7679, which represents 0.410 percent of total female births in 2017.” I think it’s more popular (talking about it) on NB and other name forums.
