Can't Name Baby #3!

We are having baby #3 in [name_u]August[/name_u] and are stumped on the name. We already have two boys called [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. We aren’t finding out the gender of the baby until they’re born however so we need girl and boy names! We like [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] and [name_m]Bowie[/name_m] for boys and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u] for girls, but we aren’t sure if those really go with the names we already have :frowning: Please help!!

[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] are both pretty classic names with a lot of history.

I think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] would go well.

[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] and [name_m]Bowie[/name_m] are very modern and trendy in comparison to [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] (unless those were both girls names, lol, then they’d be trendy too!)

Here’s a few that have a little bit more of a modern feel but might fit better:
[name_u]Blaise[/name_u]
[name_u]Blaine[/name_u]
[name_m]Philip[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
Wilke

I like [name_m]Beau[/name_m] with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m].

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is pretty. [name_u]Riley[/name_u] is nice, but it’s so unisex. It definitely sways female, but with brothers called [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] (which are definitely more unisex) I’d choose something firmly feminine. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] does that. [name_m]How[/name_m] about a D name so that you have C-D-E? And a nickname-name? The name nerd in me likes the pattern.

[name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]Eli[/name_m] & [name_f]Della[/name_f]
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]Eli[/name_m] & [name_f]Dottie[/name_f]
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]Eli[/name_m] & [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]

[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] have a lot in common. They are old-fashioned classics, with a relaxed, “knowable” feel to them. Your current list of choices for #3 are mostly trendy, faddish names that don’t have the same substance or staying power. with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] being the one exception.

I’d look for boy choices in the [name_m]Henry[/name_m]-[name_m]Jack[/name_m]-[name_u]Sam[/name_u] club.

For girls, what about:

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]

I really like the previous poster’s suggestion of [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. You could do other flower names, too, like [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], or even [name_f]Flora[/name_f]/[name_f]Florence[/name_f]. HTH!

I like [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_m]Bowie[/name_m] and think those work well enough with your other sons names, but I’m not a fan of [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] or [name_u]Riley[/name_u] and don’t feel that they fit very well with the sib set.

My first thought was [name_m]Jack[/name_m]! I think it goes perfectly with your other boys’ names, it’s classic but has a casual feel. For girls I think something like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] could work really well. A few more ideas:

[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]/[name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]/[name_m]Harry[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathan[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_u]Theo[/name_u]

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]

[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathan[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_u]Theo[/name_u]

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]

[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] are very short, sweet and simple names so it would be nice to find something to go with them. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] fits beautifully by the way.

I really like [name_m]Bowie[/name_m] too! Its a little more unusual than your other son’s names but I think it goes with them.

For girls, I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] sound nice, though I do think your choice of [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is pretty perfect with your sibset.

For boys, what about [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]? [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]? I am sort of thinking top 20 here, since the names you have feel that way.

I would not use [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m], [name_u]Riley[/name_u] or [name_m]Bowie[/name_m] but [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is nice.

I agree that [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is spot on.

I love [name_m]Bowie[/name_m] but maybe not with your other kids’ name. It sounds too nick namey.
For you I like something ending in y.

[name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
henry

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u]!

I love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]!!! for a boy maybe [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]?
