[name_f]Capucine[/name_f]! Like I said in your last thread - I can never pass up [name_f]Capucine[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] combos are lovely - I like both.

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. With [name_f]Capucine[/name_f] I can only think of Capuchin monks and I don’t see it being wearable.

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is beautiful, both the name and the blossoms. In all honesty, [name_f]Capucine[/name_f] is all monkey to me, the Capuchin monkey. I do love monkeys, I always wanted one when I was a child, but I would not want to name my child after one. I’m sorry.

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]! So beautiful! I know [name_f]Capucine[/name_f] is a legitimate name, but it just makes me think of cappuccino.

  • I love [name_f]Capucine[/name_f], but Honestly, I forgot about the monkeys. I think of the flowers and actress first and I like cappuccino’s, but I guess I see the difference in spellings. I have to agree with [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f], [name_f]Capucine[/name_f] is divine, lush, and exotic. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is equally exotic and beautiful but in a different southern prim & proper way. Its hard to to choose which feel we want. Thank You all for your input. I appreciate it.

I can honestly say I love both, but [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] has always been a favorite so that’s where my vote went. Plus while [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] has both [name_m]Nollie[/name_m] and [name_f]Nola[/name_f] as possible nicknames, both of which are wonderful [name_f]Capucine[/name_f] runs the risk of being called Cappy which is decidedly down market from the original name.

This is exactly what I was going to say.

[name_f]Capucine[/name_f] gives me a very morbid image. The Franciscan capuchin monks in [name_m]Rome[/name_m] have a famous chapel/crypt decorated with thousands of skeletons and bones. So when I hear [name_f]Capucine[/name_f], I think death first, then monkeys.

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is much more beautiful and happy, in my opinion.

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] does run the risk of being called [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] which is equally unappealing as the nickname Cappy. So Capa and [name_f]Nolia[/name_f] would be my choice in short names, but Cappy and [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] will most like be the most intuitive choices that people will make without asking.

This does concern me either way. I suppose we will run the risk with either name.

[name_m]Both[/name_m] are beautiful, in very different ways- [name_f]Capucine[/name_f] is exotic, European, classy, and romantic in a passionate/sensual way (think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Tautou); [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is lighthearted, fun, springy, Southern, pretty and princessy. I voted for [name_f]Capucine[/name_f] though because Florimell and Scheherazade (can never even spell this, had to copy and paste) both have such a foreign feel that something as English/American as [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] doesn’t seem to work. But [name_f]Capucine[/name_f] Florimell Scheherazade (or even [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Florimell Scheherazade), my first thought was WHEW, that’s quite the name! And people say I’m daring…

I used to sort-of know a [name_f]Capucine[/name_f] and she didn’t have a nickname.

P.S. [name_f]Capucine[/name_f] does make me think of cappuccino, but not a bad thing to me :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, my husband just announced that he dislikes [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], So that made that choice eaiser. However, he Is still on the fence with [name_f]Capucine[/name_f]. Ironically, I am on the fence with Ankaret, which is his first choice.lol.

I’m glad the middles are easy to settle on. I understand that many people are not quite as out there with their baby name choices, but we are really fond of the those two middle options. I think this is possible why we are soo picky with the first place. Thank you all for your patients and comments!
