What are your first impressions are of the name [name_f]Cara[/name_f] and how you would pronounce it? I think it’s beautiful and I love the meaning- beloved! For my little girl due in [name_u]June[/name_u], I would pronounce it ‘car-uh’ not ‘care-uh.’ Also need help deciding on a middle name. So far these are in the running:
I would pronounce it like [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] but with a K-sound of course.
My favorite mn combination would be [name_f]Cara[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
I’ve responded to a few of these same pronunciation questions. I’m from the NY / NJ area originally. Most of the people from my hometown and nearby would say “Cah-ra” pronouncing “Cah” like the “[name_f]Ca[/name_f]” in [name_f]Cat[/name_f].
[name_f]Cara[/name_f] is a beautiful name no matter how it’s said. You’ll just have to be comfortable with hearing different pronunciations and correcting people if mispronunciations bother you.
Close friends/family will just take your lead.
Cars [name_f]Faith[/name_f] and [name_f]Cara[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] are beautiful.
I have a friend named [name_f]Cara[/name_f], she pronounces it care-uh. I love [name_f]Cara[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. My next choice would be [name_f]Cara[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f].
I would pronounce it CAR-uh, but I’m Australian and it’s the only way I’ve ever heard it. I don’t like the other pronunciations much. CARE-uh sounds whiny and harsh to me.
[name_f]Cara[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is divine.
Australian so its KAH-ra for me. Although I don’t particularly like the name [name_f]Faith[/name_f] I feel like it works best with [name_f]Cara[/name_f]. Anyway congrats and good luck with the naming!
