Oooh, fun!

[name]Abigail[/name] - classic, versatile, cute
[name]Alexandra[/name] - gorgeous–I prefer it in its full form
[name]Alison[/name] - cute, versatile–similar appeal as [name]Abigail[/name] to me but I prefer [name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Amy[/name] - a sweet, simple name that was unfortunately worn out from overuse for a while
[name]Anne[/name] - sweet, simple, classic–I like it better as a first name than a middle name
[name]Arielle[/name] - I prefer [name]Ariel[/name], and in spite of The [name]Little[/name] Mermaid, this one never lost its charm on me
[name]Beatrice[/name] - old fashioned but charming, probably time for its return
[name]Cara[/name] - Cute but I always want to add something or change a letter, not sure why
[name]Caroline[/name] - classic, both sweet and dignified, if a little predictable
[name]Catherine[/name] - in spite of my love affair with [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables, I also prefer [name]Catherine[/name] with a C–again, predictable but has both weight and charm
[name]Christabel[/name] - I’m trying to make up my mind about this one–it’s pleasant enough and a fresh take on names starting with [name]Christ[/name] but I’m not sure I’m sold on the “bel” yet
[name]Claire[/name] - the winner of one-syllable names, a little trendy the last few years, both sweet and sophisticated
[name]Eleanor[/name] - I used to think it hopelessly old-lady, now just a whiff of old lady with a pleasant, mildly aristocratic sound
[name]Elizabeth[/name] - same associations as [name]Catherine[/name] in my mind, classic for a reason
[name]Francesca[/name] - sassy but sweet, I prefer it to [name]Frances[/name] although sometimes I wonder if it’s a little much
[name]Genevieve[/name] - alluring, strong, and bright, but pronunciation difficulties (I like both pronunciations)
[name]Gloria[/name] - I’m waiting for a revival of this one; it’s a little dated but has what it takes
[name]Harriet[/name] - sweet, with a whiff of old lady–it will probably make a comeback and sound fresher to me soon
[name]Isabel[/name] - I have always loved it but the trend is still going strong and will dilute its allure a bit
[name]Ivy[/name] - fun and cute without being cutesy, still strong
[name]Jane[/name] - sweet, classic, cool
[name]Jeanne[/name] - cute, underused, I kind of want something to spice it up but that’s probably just my style
[name]Jillian[/name] - always a winner–though not one of my favorites, it seems universally liked (I do like it) and still fresh
[name]Joanna[/name] - classic, underused, kind of cool
[name]Julia[/name] - I prefer [name]Juliet[/name] but all of those Jul names seem to fare well–pretty, friendly, clever
[name]Juliette[/name] - see above
[name]Kathleen[/name] - I like it as a fresher take on [name]Katherine[/name]–a little dated but friendly and breezy
[name]Laura[/name] - a little predictable but a lovely name, classic
[name]Laurel[/name] - I prefer this one to [name]Laura[/name] because of the laurel-leaf crown for the victorious, and I hear it less
[name]Leila[/name] - adorable, a little artsy, cool
[name]Leora[/name] - I would prefer [name]Leonora[/name] but it’s alright, I would probably do a double take and decide I like it if I were to meet someone with this name
[name]Linnea[/name] - Perfect. Name.
[name]Louisa[/name] - spunky, smart, and classic
[name]Mabel[/name] - cute, a little old lady but ready to return soon
[name]Maria[/name] - overused but lovely
[name]Mary[/name] - same as [name]Maria[/name] but actually, I suspect it is so avoided now in the U.S. in this plain version that she would be the only one in her classes and sound fresh again
[name]Meredith[/name] - I’ve always been fond of it; it strikes me as an intelligent and friendly name
[name]Miranda[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it, am seriously considering it for a future daughter–it will have to compete with [name]Linnea[/name] and many others
[name]Miriam[/name] - same as [name]Meredith[/name]
[name]Nadia[/name] - another contender along with [name]Linnea[/name] and [name]Miranda[/name], probably my favorite of the three. I adore [name]Nadia[/name].
[name]Rosalind[/name] - underused in my opinion, which is surprising because when I rarely hear it everyone seems to like it–this is a winning version of [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Ruth[/name] - a little plain for my taste but sweet
[name]Sabrina[/name] - [name]Add[/name] it to the [name]Linnea[/name], [name]Miranda[/name], and [name]Nadia[/name] list of my favorites
[name]Sarah[/name] - a great name that I’m honestly tired of hearing, way too safe–I wish someone would try [name]Sarai[/name]
[name]Tatiana[/name] - graceful, delicate, very Russian, very pretty
[name]Victoria[/name] - I never get tired of this one, it’s the classic I prefer to [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name] - this one competes with [name]Victoria[/name], another favorite, and for some reason makes me think of glamor and satin

[name]Alexander[/name] - strong but also romantic, one of the best classics
[name]Ambrose[/name] - I hope to hear this more, such a pleasant sound to me
[name]Benjamin[/name] - cute, and I prefer the full name to [name]Ben[/name]
[name]Edward[/name] - love it, and I’m partial 'cause it’s a family name
[name]Elias[/name] - cool but I prefer [name]Edward[/name]
[name]Frederick[/name] - a former Very Old [name]Man[/name] and [name]Fred[/name] [name]Rogers[/name] name that’s growing on me
[name]James[/name] - one of my other favorite classics, strong but sweet
[name]Leander[/name] - I’m trying to imagine it in the flesh, I suspect I would like it
[name]Lucas[/name] - fun, cool
[name]Luke[/name] - I think I prefer [name]Lucas[/name] but it’s close
[name]Malachy[/name] - it would have to be [name]Malachi[/name], and it’s pretty heavy but with some of the other names around, I wouldn’t mind it
[name]Nathaniel[/name] - a favorite!
Tadgh - honestly, pronunciation issues for me
[name]Theodore[/name] - old fashioned but cute
[name]Timothy[/name] - an underused classic which I like but then there’s the disabled kid on South [name]Park[/name] communicating solely by saying “[name]Timmy[/name],” which took away some of the appeal for me–if used as a full name, then cool
[name]William[/name] - it’s alright, something about it is not my style but I’m not sure what
