Flow just reminds me of period. yuck
Sunflower is too stupid, sorry
[name]Harmony[/name] is okay, but I’ve known one and she was far from carefree
I actually like [name]Indie[/name] for some reason. It seems fun but not too out there, I like it especially as a nn. Maybe for [name]India[/name], [name]Indira[/name], [name]Belinda[/name], [name]Lucinda[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Marinda[/name], etc.
This is for a school, projec which is kind of fun considering I can spend all day on Nameberry

Like the previous poster, Flow immediately made me think of menstruation. “Aunt [name]Flo[/name]” is sometimes used as a term to refer to periods (“I got a visit from Aunt [name]Flo[/name]”), and adding the w made that connection really pronounced to me. [name]Even[/name] without that reference it would strike me as seeming goofy. I don’t quite get the appeal.
[name]Harmony[/name] seems very dated to me. It fits in with late 80s names like [name]Destiny[/name], [name]Crystal[/name], or [name]Tiffany[/name] to me rather than feeling at all hippie-ish.
Sunflower is okay. There are other hippie-style [name]Sun[/name]- names that I prefer, like Sunlark. [name]Indie[/name] is quite cute.
Names that might have a similar vibe …
[name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Fleur[/name]
[name]Marigold[/name]
[name]Lotus[/name]
[name]Saffron[/name]
[name]Paisley[/name]
Skylark
[name]Wren[/name]
[name]River[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name]
Sunlily
Tigerlily
[name]Clover[/name]
[name]Reverie[/name]
[name]Luna[/name]
[name]Mariposa[/name]
[name]Paloma[/name]
[name]Fairuza[/name]
I voted for [name]Indie[/name] because it sounds most like a name. The others are [name]WAY[/name] too hippy for my tast. And please don’t name your daughter flow…that’s just mean
Its a class project Iv to write a short story on a hippie family
I’m writing a novel at the moment and some of the lesser mentioned characters have hippie names.
Look at this list.http://www.hippy.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=58
I know there are a lot of names, but it surely helped me!!
Good luck on your story!!

I voted for [name]Indie[/name] because I prefer it, not because I think it’s the most carefree of the bunch. The others just seem too ridiculous to use [name]IMO[/name]. I think [name]India[/name] nn [name]Indie[/name] would be an equally effective option.
[name]Harmony[/name] is the least ridiculous in my opinion, but none of them are really my style.
I like [name]Skye[/name], [name]Meadow[/name], [name]Willow[/name], [name]Summer[/name], [name]Serenity[/name], etc would all be great
'hippie ’ names, although I love them as well. (i’m a far left liberal, not a hippie though)
[name]Sallie[/name]
I did a school project on names a while back. When the teacher caught me updating my signature my reply was ‘Miss! Its part of my statistics project on names’ haha
I voted for [name]Indie[/name]. I love that nickname.
Sunflower would work as a middle name. [name]Flower[/name] names are fairly popular on this site, and I hardly see why Sunflower is “stupid” whereas [name]Amaryllis[/name] or [name]Lavender[/name] aren’t.
[name]Harmony[/name] does feel dated, whereas Flow just makes me think of periods.
Thank you jasmine.lee, iv nearly finished.
