I have a 2.5 year old [name]Carolina[/name] pronounced [name]Caro[/name]-leena. We get [name]Carolina[/name] like the state sometimes when we go to the doctors office. But just like [name]Carolina[/name] is a state it is also a city in Puerto [name]Rico[/name] pronounced [name]Caro[/name]-leena so i am not sure how it can be seen as disrespectful. I think [name]Caro[/name]-leena is a wonderful twist on the classic [name]Caroline[/name].

[name]Do[/name] you mind if I ask you where you live please in order to better understand if the [name]Caro[/name]-lee-na vs [name]Caro[/name]-line-a divide is a regional issue? We’re expats in Mexico City but if/when we go back to the States we’ll likely be in the NYC area.

We live in Central New [name]York[/name]. And as far as name pronunciation my older daughter is named [name]Maya[/name] and her name gets mispronounced as well people say [name]May[/name] (like the month) it’s very weird I didn’t expect that at all.
