So we had settled on [name]Caroline[/name], nn [name]Callie[/name] and now I’m wondering if we should just go with [name]Callie[/name] as a fn. I had this thought because I came up with what I think is an adorable name- [name]Callie[/name] [name]Lane[/name]! I also love that it means beautiful! I’m not sure how it would age though, and I don’t think [name]Lane[/name] would go well with [name]Caroline[/name]. What are your impressions of [name]Callie[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you think it will age well or should we stick with [name]Caroline[/name]? My husband actually likes [name]Callie[/name] better than [name]Caroline[/name] as a fn anyway.
Honestly, I’d go with [name]Caroline[/name] as a fn - [name]Callie[/name] is adorable on a baby, child, teenager - any age, really - but when she’s older and out in the professional world, it’ll give her a stronger name to fall back on. You could call her [name]Callie[/name] exclusively though - I know a lot of people who are very rarely called their full names.
[name]Just[/name] my two cents Good luck!
I would do [name]Caroline[/name] or if I wanted to underscore the [name]Callie[/name] and have that be very obvious as the nickname, [name]Calantha[/name], which means “beautiful flower” and sounds more complete and less “perpetual child” to me than [name]Callie[/name] does. [name]Callie[/name] is lovely but a bit cute. [name]Calantha[/name] could be 10 or 90 years old.
[name]Caroline[/name] is the most gold-standard English classic of all your choices though. I rather love it.
