Carter? WDYT?

Completely undecided on a boys name. Currently thinking [name]Carter[/name]? Others we like are [name]Jed[/name], [name]Preston[/name], [name]Maximus[/name], [name]Roman[/name] and [name]Jake[/name] or even maybe [name]Adam[/name]. Other suggestions welcome.

[name]Carter[/name] has been on and off my list for a while, currently it’s off but I do like it. I prefer [name]Carson[/name] though. I like [name]Jed[/name] as a nickname for [name]Jedidiah[/name], also what about [name]Judd[/name]? [name]Preston[/name]'s not my cup of tea, [name]Peyton[/name] maybe? I can’t take [name]Maximus[/name] seriously, I think of it as a dog’s name, or a horse, just [name]Max[/name]? Or the French [name]Maxime[/name] maybe? The look of [name]Roan[/name] confuses me, I’m not sure how to pronounce it. [name]Rowan[/name]? [name]Ronan[/name]? I prefer the fully [name]Jacob[/name] to [name]Jake[/name]. Also really like [name]Jacoby[/name] (I pronounce it [name]Jack[/name]-o-bee). [name]Adam[/name]'s recently flitted under my radar, I like it, but not enough to put on my list. Some other ideas: [name]Axel[/name], [name]Quinn[/name], Keton / [name]Keaton[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name], [name]Presley[/name], [name]Xander[/name] / [name]Zander[/name], [name]Fenton[/name], [name]Jacques[/name], [name]Koby[/name], [name]Cody[/name]?

I like [name]Carter[/name] but it is so popular now that it has lost the appeal. [name]Cameron[/name], [name]Parker[/name] or [name]Sayer[/name] are much better in this case.
From your list I just love [name]Adam[/name](love it in general and Bible&Shakespear connection), [name]Preston[/name] and [name]Jed[/name]. What about [name]Jared[/name] nn [name]Jed[/name], [name]Jacoby[/name] nn [name]Jake[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]Vincent[/name], [name]Calvin[/name], [name]Cruz[/name] or [name]Theodore[/name]?

I like [name]Carter[/name], but it is popular. From your list I like [name]Adam[/name] and [name]Jacob[/name] (not just [name]Jake[/name]). Have you thought about [name]Asher[/name]? It’s a great name and not too popular.

I do not like [name]Carter[/name]. It is super trendy and I’ve always considered it a name that doesn’t age well. From your list, I like [name]Max[/name] and [name]Jake[/name].

The trouble with a lot of occupational names for me is that I hear them differently than some people. For example, [name]Carter[/name] sounds like “cart her”, [name]Rider[/name]/[name]Ryder[/name] sounds like "ride her , [name]Hunter[/name] as “hunt her”…well, you get the picture! Surnames of former US Presidents are super trendy and I would avoid them like the plague. [name]Roman[/name] makes me think of felon [name]Roman[/name] Polanski so that name holds little appeal for me. [name]Jed[/name] and [name]Jake[/name] need their full names. [name]Maximus[/name] is too heavy on the macho swagger. From your list, I like [name]Adam[/name] the best with [name]Preston[/name] coming in second place.

[name]One[/name] of my co-workers is pregnant and they chose the name [name]Carter[/name]. It isn’t my cup of tea, but there is nothing really wrong with it. I just don’t feel excited about it. It seems bland and trendy. It is a cool name that will fit in well though and it is modern and likeable.

[name]Carter[/name] is a little popular for my taste but it is a nice name and I see it’s appeal. If it’s what you love though don’t let it’s popularity disuade you. I’m all for going with your heart when it comes to names!

[name]Carter[/name] is FAR too popular for me…its a solid choice for sure (a friend of mine chose it at the same time we named our son [name]Theodore[/name] and she has received a lot of “wow, another [name]Carter[/name]!” comments)

I like the other names on your list much better. I had a friend that was going to name her son [name]Carter[/name] until her husband kept saying [name]Carter[/name] the Farter. That has kind of ruined the name for me. I love [name]Jed[/name] and [name]Jake[/name] from your list.

I don’t like [name]Carter[/name] at all. I dislike last-names as first names and names ending in -er in particular. To me, it lacks substance.

I like the suggestion of [name]Sayer[/name]. I also think [name]Thayer[/name] is a fresher alternative.

[name]Roman[/name] is my favorite from your list.
