Casey?

I have been wondering this for a while, but @EagleEyes inspired me to write this post!
[name_u]Casey[/name_u] was actually one of the first boys names I fell in love with. I heard it from a cartoon based on the poem, “[name_u]Casey[/name_u] at [name_m]Bat[/name_m].”
I ended up giving the name to one of my story characters, but never considered it seriously for one of my future kids.
The biggest reason why is because I’ve never actually heard it on a boy in real life, just girls.
I’m also worried about the Casey Anthony reference. Not sure if most people would think of that.
What do you think about [name_u]Casey[/name_u] for a boy?

I’m honored, haha! And I’m sure you already know my answer - I love [name_u]Casey[/name_u] for a boy! I’ve only known girls called [name_u]Casey[/name_u] personally (though I’ve only known 2, so it’s not like I know tons of girl Caseys), but I know of some famous men called [name_u]Casey[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Casey[/name_u] is totally wearable for a boy in 2020 and is super handsome, too! I would use a more masculine middle name with it, but I 100% support the idea of a boy [name_u]Casey[/name_u]!

I think of [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Frey[/name_m] a popular comedian on social media! I think the name is more masculine than feminine for me giving how the first [name_u]Casey[/name_u] I met was a boy and I only know boy celebrities with that name! It’s wearable and I love it, I have no problem seeing a boy or girl with that name!

I haven’t heard of [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Frey[/name_m] until now!
Thank you!

The only [name_u]Casey[/name_u] I know personally is a man. [name_u]Casey[/name_u] actually ranks higher for boys than girls, at least in the US, and pretty much always has. It did peak in the 1980s, so it might be considered a little dated, but I personally think it’s a lovely classic. I don’t think [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] would be a prominent association for most people, especially for a male [name_u]Casey[/name_u].

I have met boy and girl Caseys. It’s not exactly my style but I really do like it for a boy!

Hi there.

I really like [name_u]Casey[/name_u] for a boy. It’s a sporty, charming, friendly, witty, old Irish boy name to me. And I’m a huge baseball fan, so that helps me like it even more. It’s my husband’s brother’s name, & it seems totally normal on a man to me. It just seems kind of trendy & 80s on a girl. I think that [name_u]Casey[/name_u] on a girl fad has faded, & it’s ready to be strictly back to a dashing boy name.

Hope this helps.

I don’t know who/what [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] is, so I can’t speak to that reference.

I actually see [name_u]Casey[/name_u] exclusively as a male name, even though I only know one guy named [name_u]Casey[/name_u] and multiple girls with the name :woman_shrugging:t2::rofl:

I really, really like [name_u]Casey[/name_u] for a boy!

I love [name_u]Casey[/name_u] for a boy, I think it’s very handsome and it’s one of my favourite boy names. For me its the perfect balance of rugged, outdoorsy vibes with a soft and mellow sound that I think is lovely. I’ve never met any Caseys, male or female, but I was surprised to find that it ranks higher for boys not only in the US but in the UK where I’m from too (I always kind of thought that the use of [name_u]Casey[/name_u] for boys was mostly an American thing, not that it ever put me off). With so many “boys” names being used on girls I think it is nice to consider a softer, more neutral pick for a boy. I hadn’t heard of [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] but like I say I’m from the UK so I can’t say much about that.

I know 2 boy Caseys and 1 girl [name_u]Casey[/name_u]. Despite that, it feels fresher on a boy for me. I’d love to meet more little boy Caseys!

I have never heard of [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] but I think it would be fine as long as you didn’t have a sibling with an Ant- name or obviously use one as his middle/first name.

I know 2 girl Caseys( spelt [name_u]Kasey[/name_u] and KC) and 2 boy Caseys (spelt [name_u]Casey[/name_u] and [name_u]Kasey[/name_u]). I always preferred it on boys. I also pictures kind of a rugged cowboy kind of guy like the two I know. As long as you don’t put the middle name [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] or have a brother named [name_m]Anthony[/name_m], or any Caelies, I don’t think the association will be noticeable. [name_u]Casey[/name_u] is popular enough that [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] isn’t the first [name_u]Casey[/name_u] most think of off the top of their head.

I know 3 Caseys- 2 are girls and 1 boy.
I think it’s definitely a unisex name

The two I’ve met were both boys. I think it’s a great boys name!

The only [name_u]Casey[/name_u] I’ve met is female, but I’ve definitely heard of it for boys too. I think it’s uncommon enough to work for both boys and girls.

I barely know who [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] is, but I live in the UK and she’s not well-known over here.

I see at as a very unisex name, and although I’m close to a female [name_u]Casey[/name_u], can totally imagine it on a boy.
