Caspian Apollo and Melisande Artemis?

My partner and I had agreed on the names [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] and [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] for our twins due in less than two weeks, and we’re pretty certain on Freyja for [name_f]Melisande[/name_f]'s middle name and were searching for a middle name for [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], and now my partner has suggested [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] and [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] for the middle names. Now I actually suggested them as first names way back when we found out the sex, but now I’m not certain.

I don’t like the flow of either [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], though I’m getting used to them. I’m also worried they are simply too matchy, though I don’t know how many people in day to day life would ‘get’ it. Are they too much name for a person? I chose a simple middle name for big sister [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] to mellow out her slightly extravagant first name, and that was the plan with these two, and [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] and [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] don’t fit that at all.

I love [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] [name_u]Artemis[/name_u]! The idea of using [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] and [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] for twins is a guilty pleasure of mine.

I don’t think that they are too much for a person, nor do I think they are too matchy. People use middle names so rarely that I don’t think it will be much of a problem, but if it is a problem for YOU, going for a different option might be better. [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] Freyja is gorgeous, and you could still use [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] as a middle for [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] with it.

I think they’re great, but perhaps you can find another mythological connection? [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f]'s twins had the middle names of [name_f]Selene[/name_f] and [name_m]Helios[/name_m].

I like both names in theory, but with the very “out there” (and very beautiful!) first names you’ve chosen, I think they’re a little bit too much.

I like what you did with [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f]'s name - pairing it with a simple, still unusual, but much more down-to-earth middle - and I’d personally go for the same pattern here. [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] and [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] are such bold, striking, daring choices that I don’t think you want to risk them getting lost/becoming too exaggerated as part of a really “zany” combo.

I much prefer [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] Freyja to [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], and - though I’d personally choose something more traditional to pair with [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] - I do think [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] flows better/feels less [name_m]OTT[/name_m] and could definitely work as a twin to [name_f]Melisande[/name_f] Freyja if you decide it’s “The One”.
