I think it’s absolutely beautiful, but only when pronounced [name]Cass[/name]-ee-uh. Fear of the [name]Cash[/name]-uh pronunciation puts me off a little.
I agree with most of you, I prefer the cass-ee-uh pronunciation over the cash-ah pronunciation. [name]One[/name] of my worries about this how it will be pronounced.
I really like it, it’s definitely an interesting alternative to [name]Cassidy[/name] or [name]Cassandra[/name].
I believe KAH-SHA was the original Greek way to pronounce it (they even said it like this in a Pantene commercial) but I’ve NEVER heard anyone say it like that, always as [name]CASS[/name]-ee-ah, myself included, and first instinct would be to pronounce it like other popular names ([name]Cassidy[/name] being an example). I’d think anyone would be fine saying it either way, and it’s beautiful and exotic either way.
I think its a beautiful name. There’s also a cassia flower - a tree with delicate yellow flowers, that reminds me of wisteria.
I also pronounce it cass-ee-ah.
