Cassius

I love the name [name]Cassius[/name], pronounced Cashus. I love the name in itself and I think it’s just a bonus that the nickname [name]Cash[/name] happens to be kind of cute. My partner and I both adore it but it seems like no one else really likes it. Why is that? Because of the meaning? I don’t place too much stock into it; since it’s a very old name, and the meaning is really a speculation anyway…

Anyway, what do you guys think.

Middle names are killing me though, right now my favorite is [name]Cassius[/name] [name]Xavier[/name] pronounced CASHus EXavier. But nobody really likes that either! (Except my little sister, [name]Morgan[/name], who we call [name]Mo[/name] and who gets called [name]Mo[/name] Money by her friends. She is excited to have [name]Cash[/name] Money and [name]Mo[/name] Money, apparently. ha)

I love the name! I would love to use [name]Cassius[/name] for my own son.

I would be afraid that his classmates would tease him with the nn [name]Cassie[/name] like for a girl if he turns out slightly effeminate in any way. Other than that, I do love the name.

I would see that if we were pronouncing it [name]Cass[/name]-ee-us, but we are opting for [name]Cash[/name]-us instead. The teacher is the only one who will be reading his name before hearing it- I’m not worried about him being troubled with people mispronouncing it. It should only take one correction if it’s someone you know, and if it’s someone you don’t know, then who cares?

I really love [name]Cassius[/name], but I strongly dislike [name]Cash[/name]…I group it in with ‘blingy’ names like [name]Diamond[/name]. Nms. I think [name]Cassius[/name] [name]Xavier[/name] is nice.

I don’t really like the [name]Cash[/name]-us pronunciation, but I love [name]Cassius[/name] ([name]Cass[/name]-ee-us). [name]Cash[/name] is kinda cool though and I love [name]Xavier[/name] too so I think it’s a good pick for a boy.

[name]Cassius[/name] is one of my favourite ancient [name]Roman[/name] names for boys. It is a strong and masculine name with a cool vibe but it doesn’t go overboard on the macho swagger. It is the name of saints and the original name of boxer [name]Muhammed[/name] [name]Ali[/name] (aka [name]Cassius[/name] [name]Clay[/name]). I pronounce it “[name]Cash[/name]-us”. The only drawback is the meaning “empty or vain” but I can overlook that for some classic names ([name]Cecilia[/name] means “blind” but I just ignore it and think of St [name]Cecilia[/name] who is the patron saint of music). I love [name]Xavier[/name] too. I’m not too crazy about the nn [name]Cash[/name].

I love [name]Cassius[/name] and cash! I don’t give too much thought to meanings. After all my name is [name]Ashley[/name] which means from the ash tree meadow? Lol.

I like it pronounced either way. [name]Cash[/name] is cool, and I think that Caz could be a cool nick name too. [name]Cash[/name] doesn’t sound blingy to me. I get why some people think that, but it has more of a rock n roll/country vibe to me via [name]Johnny[/name] [name]Cash[/name].

I think it’s a great name! I do prefer the other pronunciation but I like both. I do think of [name]Cassius[/name] [name]Clay[/name] right away, not that it’s a bad thing but it’s what comes to mind. I could take or leave [name]Cash[/name].

A problem might be that people will have a hard time spelling and pronouncing it.

I really appreciate the input guys! I’m becoming pretty set on using this name. I was a little surprised that almost none of my family liked it! But after seeing that it’s pretty much an acceptable name, I feel much better. I definitely also prefer the full name to the nick name, but it’s going to happen anyway I figure. [name]Just[/name] about every name has a nick name!

I like [name]Cassius[/name] a lot!
