My husband and I really love both of these names… We’ve always loved [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (a family name) and just recently decided we also both love Castiel. We had a list of names we’ve liked for a long time, but they are all way too common and I just really don’t want our future kids to have five other kids with the same name in their grade at school ([name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]) What do you think about this sibset? Have any names that you thing sound great with these two? Think these two don’t match well enough? Or do you have any uncommon cute names that I can still use the nickname [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] for? Thanks for the help!
I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
[name_u]Izzy[/name_u] for [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Isolda[/name_f], Aisla
I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! A few years ago I knew a family with a little girl they called [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I’ve always thought that was a beautiful double name. I also like Castiel. It’s not perfect with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], but it goes.
Names I like with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]:
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] - similar to Castiel, but the common n sound helps it flow better with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] I think
[name_m]Warren[/name_m]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Amos[/name_m]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] - same o beginning as [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], but less popular
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m] - similar to [name_u]Noah[/name_u] in sound and biblical origin, but less popular
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
I do really like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! Very cute mn! I’m thinking since they both have an el sound in them it helps them match even better. I’m thinking we will use the nicknames [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_u]Cass[/name_u]… I like [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], but don’t think I could ever name a kid that, I use to have a sweet dog named [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]. We did look at other similar [name_u]Cass[/name_u] names, including [name_m]Cassiel[/name_m], but decided this is our favorite. I’m glad other people agree that these two sound good together!
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name Castiel, but unfortunately it isn’t a real name. It was created by the writers of the CW show Supernatural for one of their main characters, who’s an angel.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] THEM TOGETHER
it’s so cute & also the shared “elle” sound makes them sound like a pair without being too matchy as the opposite placement of the “elle” changes it
I love them and they’re both in my favourite names
I really like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (it was on our list), but where I live it is actually very popular. I only know one [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], one [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and zero Olivers, but several little Eleanors (many go by [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f]). [name_m]Just[/name_m] something to think about if you are wanting something less common. I do think Castiel and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are mismatched. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is very classic. I’m not sure where Castiel comes from. I’d guess it was a boy’s name, but I’m really not sure.
It’s not true, Castiel is a name. It means/belongs to the angel of Thursday, there are dozens if not hundreds of individual angels for everything and some have really lovely names.
I like your two options, I like them together.
I was just going to say olimpia it IS a ‘real’ name. Castiel is an [name_u]Angel[/name_u] of Thursday (also [name_m]New[/name_m] changes and travel) in occult lore and will help anyone born on this day or anyone who asks for help on this day. This particular angel can help us if there are changes in our life which may involve a lot of travelling which require need guidance. The colour he represents in a Pastel [name_u]Green[/name_u], [name_f]Season[/name_f]: [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], Month: [name_u]November[/name_u], [name_u]Day[/name_u]: Thursday, Gemstone: [name_f]Topaz[/name_f], Symbol: The [name_m]Archer[/name_m], and [name_u]Tarot[/name_u]: [name_f]Temperance[/name_f]. Keywords to the name would be beginnings, passion and understanding. The name itself means “[name_f]My[/name_f] Cover is God.”
This is also the name of a character in the popular series “Supernatural” in which the character of Castiel is an [name_u]Angel[/name_u] sent from heaven to help the human race through the Apocalypse. He has grown attached to humans and feels compassion and love for them, and thinks they are worth saving. ( i love the show and i [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name Castiel but i was also given the its not a name speech which actually made me think it was a bad choice i still love the name and i hope to use it as love the nn [name_m]Cas[/name_m] too.
