I was reading something about flowers yesterday, and I saw Castillija. I think it sounds so pretty. I like it much more than [name_f]Calista[/name_f], but that is probably what it would be mistaken for. I probably wouldn’t use it, but I think it is pretty and usable. Maybe an altered spelling? Castillia? What do you think?
Edited to add: I misspelled it. It is Castilleja and is pronounced cass-TEEL-yah. It looks like this:
I’m not sure how to pronounce it (cas-tee-yee-ha would be my first guess because it looks Spanish) but I think it’s interesting. If you don’t mind having to explain the spelling/pronunciation to people then it could be usable.
I went to college with a Castilleja. She went by [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] always, I assume because people struggled with pronunciation of her full name.
Wow! That is cool that you met a Castilleja. I don’t think it is hard to say, maybe hard to figure out the pronunciation when read for some people. [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] is a nice, familiar option for someone who doesn’t want an unusual name.
