Australian radio/tv presenter [name]Jackie[/name] O has just announced that her first baby girl is named [name]Catalina[/name] [name]Mae[/name], nn [name]Kitty[/name]. I find [name]Catalina[/name] endearingly familiar yet exotic, and it has royal heritage, being the birth name of [name]Katherine[/name] of [name]Aragon[/name]. [name]Mae[/name], although it may be considered a new filler name, is classic, pretty and the perfect offset to a four-syllable first name. And [name]Kitty[/name] is just too cute!
I, for one, am impressed. Considering the most interesting celebrity baby name to come out of Australia so far this year has been [name]Harper[/name] [name]Rain[/name] ([name]Natalie[/name] Bassingthwaighte’s daughter), I think [name]Catalina[/name] is an inspired choice!
