I posted a few days ago - but our thinking has evolved a little bit and I would [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] to get some thoughts on which name folks like better. I am due on Sundya and am still trying to pick a girl name for our 2nd. We have a daughter [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] (Nickname “[name_f]Emme[/name_f]”.) Our last name is one syllable, begins with a G and ends with a T (And is a president’s surname)
We have narrowed our list to two major options:
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
or
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] - Nickname “[name_f]Cate[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Kate[/name_f]”
I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] would ‘go’ better with [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] and with your surname. But I personally think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is far more intriguing and beautiful. So I would choose [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], but I’m very biased towards it, as I love it so much.
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] sounds slightly better with your last name to me for some reason, though I think all your options are lovely! I also prefer [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] over [name_f]Katherine[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] are pretty perfect together! I happen to [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] though and would go with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] myself, but that is my personal preference. [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is objectively probably a better fit with your sibset and last name.
Though I objectively like the name [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] over [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], I prefer [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] both with your surname and with the sibset so that’s probably what I would pick.
I am not a fan of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] at all and don’t really understand its growing popularity. However, I love the way [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] looks/sounds, and I think [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is cute as a nickname. I’d go with one of those!
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] either, myself. I would personally go with [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] (this spelling). Though, whether it’s with a K or a C, [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is prettier by miles and a way better fit with adorable [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f]! =]
Let her stand out with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f] is beautiful but [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is very ‘fresh’ and ‘now’.
In general, I prefer [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] (love [name_f]Cate[/name_f]!), and [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] G___T sounds great. I like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] better as siblings, I think, but I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] seems to be more classic than [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], which both are classy with spunk, imo. But [name_f]Emme[/name_f] and [name_f]Cate[/name_f] are practically made for each other, and [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is so gorgeous. I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is getting my vote, although I’d love to see [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], too?
([name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is gorgeous, by the way!)
I love both [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. I find something so special about [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].
