Catherine vs Charlotte

Which do you prefer? I can’t decide. I like [name]Catherine[/name] with the nickname [name]Cate[/name] but I don’t like [name]Charlie[/name] or [name]Lottie[/name] for [name]Charlotte[/name], just the full name [name]Charlotte[/name].
[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Grace[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]? Thank you for your opinionsXx

I’ve been a big fan of [name]Charlotte[/name] but I love [name]Catherine[/name] so my vote goes to [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Grace[/name].

I love [name]Charlotte[/name], and also strongly dislike the nn [name]Lottie[/name]. I don’t like [name]Catherine[/name] too much but I love [name]Cate[/name]. I can’t choose!

I’d say that there are probably more Catherines out there than Charlottes, but [name]WAY[/name] more baby Charlottes that baby Catherines. So, my vote goes to [name]Catherine[/name], which feels more timeless ([name]Charlotte[/name] is at once trendy AND classic, if that makes sense). [name]Both[/name] are great names, so I can totally understand your indecision. I also think that [name]Catherine[/name] is a better choice for you, since you like the more logical nickname, whereas you don’t like [name]Charlotte[/name]'s nicknames.

SO, my vote goes to [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Grace[/name].

I like the timeless [name]Catherine[/name] better, and [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is a great combo [name]IMO[/name]!

I like both names, but my personal preference is [name]Catherine[/name]. As pretty, classic, and feminine as [name]Charlotte[/name] is, it slightly bothers me that it is a feminization of the male name, [name]Charles[/name]. I doubt this bothers many people other than me.

I feel the same way about [name]Cecilia[/name]. [name]LOVE[/name] the name, just slightly bothered that it is the feminization of [name]Cecil[/name].

This is hard for me as I adore both names, they are so very beautiful. But my absolute favorite name for my future daughter is [name]Catherine[/name]. Plus the middle name [name]Grace[/name]! So naturally my vote goes for [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Grace[/name]!

just as an fyi, no need to go with cate for catherine unless your a major fan of cate blanchett as she is the only pop culture person i know of that does this.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] was my all time favorite name since Sex & the City first aired. It has lost its zest for me given how popular it has become. For that reason, I would say [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Cate[/name_f]. Although I do completely understand the allure of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. Such a beautiful name.

Hmm…
I love both [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. To be honest I like both [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] equally so I’m reasoning is going to be slightly nit-picky. Their elegant, demure, sweet, and have a very regal classic sound. I think for you though you should use [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] because ultimately both names will be shortened and you hate the nicknames for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] which means that you’ll be annoyed when people call your little girl [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and will constantly run around correcting people. Whereas with [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] you like the nickname [name_f]Cate[/name_f] which most likely will be the go to nickname and you won’t be annoyed by people using this nickname and [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a lovely combination which feels very understated and effortless.

: )

I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], not so much [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is pretty but so predictable. I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is much more interesting and just as beautiful!

I prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] to [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] (though I prefer [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]) :).

I like [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] more than [name_f]Grace[/name_f] but [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] more than [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] feels so timeless and is easy to imagine on lots of different types of women.

And, this might sound odd, but I don’t favour the slurry Shhh- sound of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. Yes, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is much prettier than [name_f]Sharon[/name_f] or [name_f]Cheryl[/name_f], and not as obscure/prone to mispelling as [name_f]Chantal[/name_f], but I much prefer the definite C/K sound of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].

In fact, I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]'s “free” meaning a lot, but that Ch- sound always sends me running to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]'s less glossy variation, [name_f]Caroline[/name_f].

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] for me. It’s my favourite classic, so no competition.

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a bit predictable, but I’ve not met any little Catherines recently (and have met fifty billion little Charlottes, it seems like).

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is a lovely name–I just might suggest doing something a bit less staid in the middle? [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], even : )

I really love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], it’s gorgeous

I’m torn.

I dislike [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. However, [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a lovely middle. [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is an amazing standalone name, [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I have a huge bone to pick with [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. Why would anyone on God’s good green earth ever use [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] for anything but a [name_u]December[/name_u] baby? Also, I think the nicknames for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] are amazing, and shouldn’t be avoided.

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a lovely combo but to be totally honest I can’t stand [name_f]Cate[/name_f] spelled with a C, it just looks all wrong to me… If you’re going to call her [name_f]Kate[/name_f] quite often, I would switch the spelling to [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] personally. I much prefer [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] in its full form though, no nickname. I’m friends with only one [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], and at least a dozen [name_f]Kate[/name_f]'s and [name_f]Katie[/name_f]'s! I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] are both wonderful names, but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is on the rise and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is getting kind of tired in my opinion. [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] though is beautiful, regal and timeless

Order of Preference…
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] ([name_f]Kate[/name_f])
