The new blog post got me thinking about [name]Catherine[/name] again. It’s so beautiful, my great grandmother was named [name]Catherine[/name] (Though she spelled it with a K) and she was a wonderful woman. I just worry about it being so popular. [name]Catherine[/name] Larkspur is my combo. If I used [name]Catherine[/name] as a middle name I’d use [name]Zelda[/name] [name]Catherine[/name].
I really like the name [name]Catherine[/name] but to be honest I much prefer the spelling [name]Katherine[/name] or [name]Katharine[/name]. I find the K to be a much stronger initial than the C…just personal opinion i guess. I think the name is classic and feminine.
[name]May[/name] i ask why you chose the spelling [name]Catherine[/name]? If your grandmother spelt it with a K could you not use the name as a namesake?
[name]Zelda[/name] is alright, Im kind of neutral towards it…have you ever considered [name]Zella[/name] instead? [name]Unique[/name] but not quite as strict/severe as [name]Zelda[/name].
I love the name [name]Catherine[/name]. It is like [name]Elizabeth[/name]. The popularity doesnt matter because I never get sick of hearing it. It is just a lovely name.
I love [name]Catherine[/name]! My daughter is [name]Emily[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]. To me, [name]Catherine[/name] with a C is more gentle and feminine-looking, if that makes any sense.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]! It’s #149, so it’s not too popular, but that may depend on where you are and how popular is “too popular” for you… I love that you’re pairing it with more unusual first or middle names, too! I second the suggestion of [name]Katharine[/name], which I think is also lovely… Since [name]Zelda[/name] and Larkspur have “harsher” sounds (Z, D, K…), the “softer-looking” [name]Catherine[/name] might work better than [name]Katherine[/name], though they both sound the same, so it doesn’t matter! [name]Do[/name] you say [name]Catherine[/name] with two syllables (Kath-rin) or three (Kath-er-in)?
My great grandmother’s name was really spelled with a C. It’s spelled with a C on her birth certificate. For some reason she always spelled it with a K. I much prefer the [name]Catherine[/name] spelling anyways.
[name]Catherine[/name] (with a C) is my middle name (also my mother’s and grandmother’s), and I love it. I agree with others who have said that popular or not, it feels like an elegant and lovely choice, feminine without being frilly. I’m glad my parents chose it for me many years ago! Oh, and we say it with two syllables.
[name]Katherine[/name] with a K is one of my all time favorite names. I prefer the K spelling because I adore the nicknames [name]Kit[/name] and [name]Kate[/name]. [name]Catherine[/name] to me feels softer and is only slightly less appealing. I don’t like the nickname [name]Cathy[/name], and [name]Cate[/name] feels unauthentic to me somehow. However in either form it is a beautiful name. [name]Catherine[/name] Larkspur is gorgeous. I’m not a big [name]Zelda[/name] fan and [name]Zelda[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] seems off balance to me.
[name]Catherine[/name] is my middle name! I have always felt that this is the “right” way to spell it. I think it looks less trendy, but that may just be me. My aunt’s name is [name]Catherine[/name], but she goes by [name]Katie[/name] or [name]Kate[/name]. So I don’t think the spelling really matters nick-name wise.
