What do you think? These are some names that I’ve been thinking about recently.
(no baby in the works or anything, just general name opinion curiosity)
Aldith
Bébinn
Eider
[name]Edric[/name]
Emerens
[name]Magnus[/name] nn [name]Mack[/name]
[name]Milan[/name]
Romaeus
[name]Yago[/name]
Thanks a lot!
I totally love [name]Magnus[/name]! I think it should be used way more often. None of the others are really my cup of tea, but it’s funny you mentioned [name]Edric[/name] - my brother’s name is [name]Eric[/name] and that’s what I used to call him as a silly nickname.
I was gonna say the same thing about [name]Magnus[/name], I absolutely love it. It always reminds me of [name]Magnus[/name] from that Shadowhunter series, he was one of my favorite characters and it gives me a nice image. [name]How[/name] would you pronounce Eider?
Aldith – This is kind of cool. Not something I would usually like, but something about it draws me to it.
Bébinn – Though it’s meaning is quite obviously feminine (something like “fair lady”, for those not familiar), I just feel the names look and sound to be very masculine. Also, unless you live in a very Irish community, no-one would ever pronounce it correctly.
Eider – Not too bad, but I instantly think ‘eiderdown’ and can’t seem to get that association out of my head now.
[name]Edric[/name] – I feel like it’s missing a C- in front, however, I definitely prefer [name]Edric[/name], to [name]Cedric[/name].
Emerens – Emerentius has long been a guilty pleasure of mine… Emerens is funky too, and maybe quite a bit more usable, though still a little too obscure for a first I say.
[name]Magnus[/name] – Ohhh, this takes me back to the days of watching ‘[name]Matilda[/name]’ on repeat. “[name]Agatha[/name]. This is [name]Magnus[/name]. Leave my little Bumblebee her house. And her money. Then get out of town…etc etc”…I know that movie, still, word for word. All that said, I’m not a fan of the name myself - I find it do be rather heavy and dated.
[name]Milan[/name] – The Italian city and the Disney princess Mulan comes to mind. It’s not bad though.
Romaeus – Very cool sounding name! GP territory only though in my opinion.
[name]Yago[/name] – On a guy with Spanish heritage I could get on board with it, but I don’t know, something about it puts me off. Maybe it’s the Y-, because I actually don’t mind [name]Iago[/name].
These are not my style. reminds me of like pokemon or somehting??
