I really loved the name [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f], but then I realized “cilia” is a scientific term, and it kind of ruined the name for me. I still like it, but it’s hard to get past.
I like [name_f]Marina[/name_f] as well, but is it weird that [name_f]Marina[/name_f] is just a dock for boats? [name_u]Or[/name_u] am I just really overthinking things?
We love the middle name [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. Any suggestions for a first name would be awesome! We don’t like anything super common. He loves S names, I love E names lol. But we are open to others of course!
I personally love [name_f]Marina[/name_f]! I don’t think that the docking boats thing would be weird at all, I mean the name [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] is super popular and it is literally the word hunter. Personally I can’t picture anyone under 30 with the name [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], but my that’s personal opinion!
For [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f], I personally don’t think the “cilia” part is a problem. I actually prefer the spelling as [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]. Same goes for [name_f]Marina[/name_f]. I think both names are well known and popular enough to where they don’t sound odd or like word names. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] as well.
Where I am from, [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] and cilia are pronounced completely differently --suh-SEEL-ya versus SILL–ee–uh. I much prefer Cecelia/Cecilia. As someone said, [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is classic and elegant. [name_f]Marina[/name_f] conjures images of the old Soviet Union.
No wonder your struggling both are lovely! I think for me though [name_f]Marina[/name_f] has the edge over [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f].
So I’m just going to swoon about [name_f]Marina[/name_f] for a bit honestly she’s elegant, visually gorgeous and completely underused. I actually love the association with [name_f]Marina[/name_f] being a dock for boats. I’m a massive fan of being by the water and watching boats dock as a child at the marina was something I loved doing so to me [name_f]Marina[/name_f] almost feels nostalgic. Such a beautiful name. I think [name_f]Marina[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] works despite the repeated ‘r’ sound.
