Sess-ily and Siss-ily
I prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
I’d pronounce them both siss-ily. I prefer the [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] spelling.
I’d pronounce them the same as @juliem1912 and I also prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
SESS-ih-lee ([name_f]Cecily[/name_f])
SISS-uh-lee ([name_f]Cicely[/name_f])
I really like both but LOVE [name_f]Cicely[/name_f], such a sweet, feisty, gorgeous name with some great historical namesakes.
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] - sess-ih-lee
[name_f]Cicely[/name_f] - siss-uh-lee
I prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
Sess-ill-ee and Siss-ell-ee
I prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]!
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] looks much better to me
sess-ih-lee
siss-uh-lee
I much prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], but I’m not sure why
to me…
Cecily = see-sill-ee
[name_f]Cicely[/name_f] = siss-ill -ee
Cecily - SESS-ih-lee
[name_f]Cicely[/name_f] - SISS-ih-lee
I love [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]!
I prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]…
I say SESS-sill-ee and SIS-sill-ee. I prefer [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] because I think it looks nicer.
Same as most others, I pronounce [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] as sess-ih-lee and [name_f]Cicely[/name_f] as siss-ih-lee. I prefer the way [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] looks and sounds! Also, [name_f]Cicely[/name_f] reminds me too much of [name_f]Sicily[/name_f]!
I agree with all of the previous posters about the pronunciation difference. I prefer the look of [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], and I like that it’s more widely known. But I think I prefer the sound of [name_f]Cicely[/name_f], and, like [name_f]Katinka[/name_f] said, I appreciate all her namesakes.
Yay, someone else who loves [name_f]Cicely[/name_f]! It’s somehow simultaneously more delicate and more feisty than [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] to me, I think it’s beautiful.
Sess vs siss when it comes to pronunciation.
I’m with @katinka, [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is lovely but [name_f]Cicely[/name_f] just has some extra je ne sais quoi that makes it one of my favourites!
Cecily - SESS-ull-ee
Cicely - SIS-ull-ee
I do not have a preference, both are very pretty!!
Cecily. I think it looks more balanced than having the I come first form some reason.
Exactly this. ^^
