I think they are a little close, personally. The â[name_m]Ed[/name_m]â part is exactly the same, they have the same syllables and cadence. If I had to call for â[name_m]Cedric[/name_m] and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]!â every day Iâd get tongue twisted! That may just be me though!
Cedric and [name_m]Ernest[/name_m], as an example, works quite nicely. Similar vibes but totally different sounds.
Or [name_u]Claude[/name_u] and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m].
Personally I think they are close but doable.
Cedric and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] share the repeated [name_m]Ed[/name_m] sound but [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] could be [name_m]Ric[/name_m] and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] could be [name_m]Ed[/name_m].
Some similar names
[name_u]Cedar[/name_u]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Eric[/name_m]
[name_m]Edmond[/name_m]
[name_m]Cecil[/name_m]
Honestly I mix up the baby name with my husbands name and the dog so I think that itâs kind of inevitable to be calling the wrong name
I think itâs fine
I think youâre fine tbh but, as @Ehrob1 says, if youâre worried about it you can always encourage a nickname for one
Cute!!! [name_u]Love[/name_u] them together.
A little close. [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]?
I donât think [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] are too similar at all.
Brothers - fine.
Twins - I like twin names to be more distinct than this, as they share enough as is.
For brothers, theyâre not hugely distinct, but not unusable by any means, as long as they donât go by [name_m]Ced[/name_m] and [name_m]Ed[/name_m]. @Ehrob1 had a good suggestion with [name_m]Ric[/name_m] and [name_m]Ed[/name_m].
Overall, I would just trust your own opinion on this. Try saying them together out loud a bunch and see how they feel rolling off your tongue. [name_f]Imagine[/name_f] calling for them - will they know which one you are calling for? It will mostly be you and your family who say their names together so make sure you can picture your family saying them without confusion as well.
I think theyâre great! I may be biased as [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] is my brothers name
I honestly donât even see the similarities⌠I think they go so well together!
Stylistically, I think theyâre a great pair! I do find them a little bit tongue-twister-y to say together, but I donât think it has to be a dealbreaker by any means if theyâre your favorites!
