What do you think of [name_f]Celyn[/name_f] (pronounced kell-in) for a little girl? It is a welsh name meaning holly, which is my name. We gave our son a very meaningful name for his first and middle which managed to honor all sides of the family. We’re struggling to find names for a future child that are as meaningful! Does [name_f]Celyn[/name_f] look like a made up name or trying to be unique?
I love [name_f]Celyn[/name_f]. I do have a soft spot for Welsh names though I love the meaning for you, it works great. It doesn’t look made up to me obviously. It’s a real name, from a real language, with the real/appropriate spelling. I wouldn’t worry about that!
@ziggy2112 thank you! I just hope it doesn’t get perceived in the same group as other -lyn and -leigh trendier names. I really love it.
I think [name_f]Celyn[/name_f] is lovely! I have a soft spot for Welsh names, and this one is probably one of my favourites (along with [name_f]Ffion[/name_f]). I doubt it would be lumped in with other lyn/leigh names, but for what it’s worth, I love a lot of [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] names, so I don’t think I’d find that to be a bad thing.
I also love that your name is [name_f]Holly[/name_f] and [name_f]Celyn[/name_f] is the Welsh word for [name_f]Holly[/name_f], as you pointed out! Reasons like that are why I hope to use the name [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] in a combination somewhere
