Challenging last name...suggestions/opinions please

Our last name is Ball…I’m trying to think of some names that would sound more than just “ok” with it. Our top picks for each are:

[name]Zooey[/name] [name]Nicolette[/name]
[name]Lily[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Lily[/name] [name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Clare[/name]

[name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Harry[/name] [name]Liam[/name] (yes, I realize the potential for some vulgar nicknames)
We also like [name]Linus[/name] & [name]Atticus[/name] but my step son is named [name]Marcus[/name]…I think the -us ending is too similar.

Any opinions on our choices or suggestions that would sound better with our last name would be appreciated. Thanks.

Firstly, please don’t spell [name]Zoe[/name] as [name]Zooey[/name], that just spoils a good name. It just reminds me of the zoo.

[name]Lily[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] is very nice
[name]Matilda[/name] is one of my favourite names. I would choose [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Violet[/name].

[name]Harry[/name] is a great name as is [name]Harrison[/name] I like it more than [name]Henry[/name]; having said that [name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] is a great combo.

[name]Atticus[/name] is fabulous and [name]Henry[/name] [name]Atticus[/name] would be great esp if you don’t want the cousin’s name to sound matchy with your son’s name.

[name]Jude[/name] [name]Harrison[/name] is a cool name

other combos

[name]Harrison[/name] [name]Jude[/name]
[name]Harry[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Harry[/name] [name]Louis[/name]
[name]Harry[/name] [name]Christian[/name]
[name]Harry[/name] [name]Lionel[/name]
[name]Harry[/name] [name]Phillip[/name]

Please don’t name your kid [name]Harry[/name] Ball. No matter how much you like the name, it isn’t worth it.

I agree. Especially since you have other wonderful names on your list.

[name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] is great, I also like [name]Atticus[/name], but it may be too much with [name]Marcus[/name] like you said. [name]Liam[/name] would be a great choice for a first or a middle.

I like [name]Zoe[/name], but not spelled [name]Zooey[/name], as someone else already said. If you have to have an alternate spelling, I wouldn’t take it past [name]Zoey[/name].

[name]Hi[/name]!

[name]Zooey[/name] [name]Nicolette[/name]
[name]Lily[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Lily[/name] [name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Clare[/name]

[name]Lily[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] Ball is my favorite - it is really pretty and elegant!

[name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]

Well, [name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] is my top choice for a future boy, so I love that one. I agree - you can’t name your son [name]Harry[/name], even if you love it, because of your last name - it’s awful! But, [name]Harry[/name] is a nickname for [name]Henry[/name], so I wonder if that would be an issue, too…

You might also consider these:

[name]Adeline[/name] [name]Margot[/name] Ball
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Alice[/name] Ball
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] Ball
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] Ball
[name]Fiona[/name] [name]Giselle[/name] Ball
[name]Gwendolyn[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] Ball
[name]Helena[/name] [name]Roseanne[/name] Ball
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] Ball

You get the picture…

For a boy, something like this might work:

[name]Christopher[/name] [name]Henry[/name] Ball
[name]Donovan[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] Ball
[name]Elliot[/name] [name]Patrick[/name] Ball
[name]Frederick[/name] [name]Simon[/name] Ball
[name]Julian[/name] [name]Edmond[/name] Ball
[name]Nicholas[/name] [name]Maxwell[/name] Ball
[name]Theodore[/name] [name]Wyatt[/name] Ball

Good luck!
