Our last name is Ball…I’m trying to think of some names that would sound more than just “ok” with it. Our top picks for each are:
[name]Zooey[/name] [name]Nicolette[/name]
[name]Lily[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Lily[/name] [name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Clare[/name]
[name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Harry[/name] [name]Liam[/name] (yes, I realize the potential for some vulgar nicknames)
We also like [name]Linus[/name] & [name]Atticus[/name] but my step son is named [name]Marcus[/name]…I think the -us ending is too similar.
Any opinions on our choices or suggestions that would sound better with our last name would be appreciated. Thanks.
Firstly, please don’t spell [name]Zoe[/name] as [name]Zooey[/name], that just spoils a good name. It just reminds me of the zoo.
[name]Lily[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] is very nice
[name]Matilda[/name] is one of my favourite names. I would choose [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Violet[/name].
[name]Harry[/name] is a great name as is [name]Harrison[/name] I like it more than [name]Henry[/name]; having said that [name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] is a great combo.
[name]Atticus[/name] is fabulous and [name]Henry[/name] [name]Atticus[/name] would be great esp if you don’t want the cousin’s name to sound matchy with your son’s name.
[name]Jude[/name] [name]Harrison[/name] is a cool name

I agree. Especially since you have other wonderful names on your list.
[name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] is great, I also like [name]Atticus[/name], but it may be too much with [name]Marcus[/name] like you said. [name]Liam[/name] would be a great choice for a first or a middle.
I like [name]Zoe[/name], but not spelled [name]Zooey[/name], as someone else already said. If you have to have an alternate spelling, I wouldn’t take it past [name]Zoey[/name].
[name]Zooey[/name] [name]Nicolette[/name]
[name]Lily[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Lily[/name] [name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Clare[/name]
[name]Lily[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] Ball is my favorite - it is really pretty and elegant!
[name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
Well, [name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] is my top choice for a future boy, so I love that one. I agree - you can’t name your son [name]Harry[/name], even if you love it, because of your last name - it’s awful! But, [name]Harry[/name] is a nickname for [name]Henry[/name], so I wonder if that would be an issue, too…
