Change a name Twice? to Elise

I polled earlier about using [name]Elise[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Elise[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] or just [name]Elise[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name].
About a year ago I came here for help on changing baby [name]Elyssa[/name]'s name as I pretty much couldn’t stand it and just gave in to get the heck out of the hospital. So we have called her by her Hebrew name [name]Eliana[/name]. I think it is very pretty but it is to frilly for me but was the best I could come up with since I really wanted an E name. [name]Beatrice[/name] has to stay as it honors a deceased family member.

So, now( mostly )hypothetically I am considering [name]Elyse[/name] or [name]Elise[/name] because I just absolutely love it and I just feel like it is the name she should have had. Most everyone just calls her [name]Ellie[/name] so maybe its plausible. She will anwser to [name]Eliana[/name]. [name]Ellie[/name] or [name]Elise[/name] but she is 20 mos old now . She is still legally [name]Elyssa[/name] so I could change it and wait til she is older to deicide what she wants to use. Mostly just venting to other people who know how important a great name is.

I think [name]Elise[/name] is the better of the two spellings (the y in [name]Elyse[/name] seems unecesary) but if she’s going to go by [name]Eliana[/name], why not use that name? [name]Eliana[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] or [name]Eliana[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] is really pretty. If you really hate your daughters name so much that you’ve wanted to change it for months, then just do it while she’s still young. If you wait too long it might become confusing for her.

  • [name]Athena[/name]

I dont hate [name]Eliana[/name] I just don’t love it and of course I wish I had picked a name I did, but thats more my problem I think, hopefully she will love her name and that’s all that matters. I considered [name]Elyse[/name] since she’s still [name]Elyssa[/name] legally. I know several people who use their Hebrew names and Legal names but I guess it could get confusing.

I think if you’re going to change it it’s fine to do [name]Elise[/name]. You don’t need [name]Elyse[/name] to allusde to [name]Elyssa[/name]. I like both spellings, but agree [name]Elise[/name] is more straightforward. Besides, [name]Elise[/name] is closer to [name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Eliana[/name]. I know plenty of people with both a Hebrew name and a legal name, I think it’s a cool tradition and I’m a little jealous : D. Same thing with saints’ names/confirmation names amongst some Christians. I mean also using just one name is a great option too. Good luck to you!
