Change character name from Linus

I’m working on a story about a character with mental illness who’s also a famous singer. Thus far, his name is [name_m]Linus[/name_m] but I am interested in perhaps changing it. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the name [name_m]Linus[/name_m]? I’m also looking for suggestions. Maybe something slightly edgy, but he’s also a really nice quiet dude. His niece is also names after him so if it was something that could have a feminine form or twist that would be cool. His sisters name is [name_f]Valerie[/name_f].

EDIT: I’ve settled on Linus. I really appreciated the suggestions and I’m thinking about perhaps incorporating them into middle names, up to two. If anyone has a good idea for a middle name for Linus, please recommend. These are my ideas so far (tell me if you like them!) :
Linus Maximilian
Linus Jude
Linus Madden
Linus Romero
Linus Casey

Personally, I think [name_m]Linus[/name_m] works great. However here are some names that I think fit and their female counterparts:
[name_u]Jay[/name_u] - [name_f]Jaylynn[/name_f] / [name_f]Jaelynn[/name_f] / [name_u]Jazz[/name_u]
[name_u]Cory[/name_u] / [name_m]Kory[/name_m] - [name_f]Coral[/name_f] / [name_f]Corinna[/name_f] / Corretta / Coreene
[name_m]Louie[/name_m] / [name_u]Lou[/name_u] - [name_f]Louella[/name_f] / Loura ([name_f]Laura[/name_f]) / [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] / [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_m]Will[/name_m] - [name_f]Willa[/name_f] / [name_u]Willie[/name_u] / Willona
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - [name_f]Olive[/name_f] / [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]

Or some that I can’t think of a female counterpart for:
[name_u]Bobby[/name_u]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m]
[name_u]Dean[/name_u]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] is cool. I guess it would depend on the kind of singer he is. Like, I would picture [name_m]Linus[/name_m] for more of a folk singer over a rocker or pop star.

For a niece named after [name_m]Linus[/name_m], I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Linnet[/name_f]! Both [name_m]Linus[/name_m] and [name_f]Linnet[/name_f] have the same origin (“flax” & “flaxen haired”, respectively), and [name_f]Linnet[/name_f] is so underused and adorable (total name crush).

If not [name_f]Linnet[/name_f], maybe [name_f]Lina[/name_f] could work? Or, something of Greek origin (like [name_m]Linus[/name_m]), [name_f]Melina[/name_f]? It’s a bit of a stretch, though.

So, alternatives to [name_m]Linus[/name_m]:
[name_m]Madden[/name_m] – [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] / [name_f]Maddison[/name_f]
[name_u]Sidney[/name_u] – (same name)
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m] – [name_u]Dominique[/name_u]
[name_u]Nick[/name_u] – [name_f]Nicki[/name_f] / [name_f]Nicole[/name_f]
[name_m]Lenny[/name_m] – [name_f]Lena[/name_f] / [name_f]Lenore[/name_f]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] – [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] / [name_u]Jackie[/name_u]
[name_u]Chris[/name_u] – [name_f]Christa[/name_f] / [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f] / [name_f]Christine[/name_f]
[name_u]Francis[/name_u] – [name_f]Frances[/name_f] / [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] – [name_f]Judy[/name_f] / [name_f]Judith[/name_f]
[name_u]Denny[/name_u] – [name_f]Denise[/name_f]
[name_m]Victor[/name_m] – [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_u]Casey[/name_u] – (same name)

I hope this is helpful! Good luck

I’m happy you’re sticking with [name_m]Linus[/name_m] (it’s actually been starting to grow on me)!

I like [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. Feels very cool, like someone who you’d expect to end up as a famous musician.

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Romero[/name_m] strikes me as romantic. I like the combo, but not as much as [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u].

I would probably shorten [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] to [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Mac[/name_m]. [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] is a bit overpowering (though it does have a nice flow). [name_m]Mac[/name_m] packs more of a punch.

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Madden[/name_m] and [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_u]Casey[/name_u] are alright, but I’m not blown away by them.

Taking from a previous poster’s suggestion, [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_u]Dean[/name_u] or [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] could make cool middle names. Maybe even [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_m]Garrett[/name_m], whether as two middles or with [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] as a last name. I like the hard “t” ending.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps
