Changed our minds on baby girl's name. Need help on new ideas!

At around 20 weeks, My husband and I decided on the name [name_f]Marin[/name_f] for our little girl. We just absolutely loved it. However, that was 15 weeks ago and now we are flip flopping. We are not so in love with it for OUR little girl any longer. I think it is an adorable name, but just not for ours.

I am due [name_u]Jan[/name_u]. 4th, our son was a few days early, I was 2 weeks early, and my husband was early as well, so we are most definitely in a time crunch to find a new name!

So far, we have [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_u]Carey[/name_u](would love a formal name, but can’t find one I like so far…), [name_u]Blair[/name_u], and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. I am open to suggestions!!

Also, something that goes well with the last name, Michaels, and big brother, [name_u]Logan[/name_u]!

Thanks all!

I love [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_u]Logan[/name_u] has a nice ring too, personally for me I like [name_u]Blair[/name_u] with an e on the end  ([name_u]Blaire[/name_u]) do you have any middle name in particular?

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] are beautiful, and both on my list of favorites! [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] comes with some fun nicknames if you want - [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], [name_f]Nella[/name_f], or [name_f]Nora[/name_f] (or keep it full-length [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]). I like them because they are feminine, but not overly so, and both sound strong and intelligent.

I don’t like [name_u]Blair[/name_u] for a girl - nothing wrong with it, but it just doesn’t stand out to me. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is nice, but again, doesn’t stand out to me as much as [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. [name_u]Carey[/name_u] sounds dated to me (sound, not spelling).

You’re lucky with the last name Michaels, as pretty much everything will sound good with it!

I second [name_u]Blair[/name_u]—it pairs well with [name_u]Logan[/name_u]. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] are “l” heavy, so they might not pair quite as well with your son’s name. [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] would be very nice.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] are probably my favorites right now because I love the nn’s [name_f]Elle[/name_f] and [name_f]Elly[/name_f]. My husband is not convinced yet, that’s why there are other names that we both like. Middle name is not picked out yet, either. [name_u]Carey[/name_u] is a close third for me, it is just such a pretty name to me. Maybe we could choose that for a mn. I like the full name Carrington and then nn [name_u]Carrey[/name_u]. BUT I had an ex who had an ex with the name Carrington. Shame.

Names you could get [name_u]Carey[/name_u]/[name_f]Carrie[/name_f] from:

[name_f]Cara[/name_f]
[name_f]Carina[/name_f]
[name_f]Carissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Carlotta[/name_f]
[name_f]Carmella[/name_f]
[name_u]Carmen[/name_u]
Carrigan
[name_f]Carolina[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_f]Toccara[/name_f]

Thank you, those just aren’t appealing. The only one I sort of like from that list is Carrigan, but I know it won’t be a hit with my husband. Thank you, though, for giving those ideas! If you think of others, send them my way

I probably won’t think of any more… I went through the Nameberry database and pretty much picked out every usable name containing “car”, so I guess you’ll have to get more creative if you want a fuller name. Good luck!!

I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], maybe an alternative spelling would be cute or somthing like [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] or [name_f]Marie[/name_f] they’re all simple classy and fresh with adoreable nickname options. Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]

Yes… [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] are… fresh. Riiight.

I have a friend who has a daughter named Carrianne. I think that’s adorable.

I love both [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. However, [name_u]Logan[/name_u] is somewhat “trendy” and modern so I’m not sure if I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] paired with it. [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] seems like it could fit much better because it isn’t overly popular, like [name_u]Logan[/name_u], but it shares some currently desirable sounds ("[name_f]El[/name_f]" and names ending in “ee”).

Ok ok maybe not fresh, I meant happy and cheery names (at least they are to me)

I much prefer [name_f]Marin[/name_f] to your new choices.

[name_u]Carey[/name_u]: [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f], [name_f]Charis[/name_f] / [name_f]Karis[/name_f]

First of all, I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] the name [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]! I like it with [name_u]Logan[/name_u] also because they both have ‘lo’ in them
Also, another name I love personally that is similar to [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is Elanney ([name_f]Melanney[/name_f] without the M). There are many possiblilities for spelling such as [name_f]Elanni[/name_f], [name_f]Elanee[/name_f], Ellaney, [name_f]Elanie[/name_f], etc. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] I helped in some way!

I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or [name_f]Caroline/name_f.

[name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] sound and look so great with [name_u]Logan[/name_u]! All three are spunky, take-no-guff names that all sound great with Michaels. [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]/[name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Marin[/name_f] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] sound cute!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Elin[/name_f]?

Maybe [name_f]Carina[/name_f]? I’ve always liked this name.

Otherwise, [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] would be my vote

I like all your names but not really a fan of [name_u]Blair[/name_u]. It makes me think of Gossip Girl or an 80s soap and get trendy thus dated pretty quickly.

[name_u]Carey[/name_u] is the most original. You can get a nn out of [name_f]Carla[/name_f] too but then people might give her the nn of [name_f]Carly[/name_f] instead of [name_u]Carey[/name_u]. [name_u]Carey[/name_u] Micheals just flows

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is lovely. Also consider [name_f]Corynn[/name_f] or [name_f]Keri[/name_f] (just spelled differently?)
