Well it seems like you’ve beaten yourself up a lot for choosing those names for your children in the beginning and because you just want to change the middle names it isn’t really a big deal and the most important thing is that you chose the names you love for your girls so you can wipe the slate clean. I love the idea of honouring your father through [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is a lovely name and it flows really well with [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], better than [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]. I’ve never been fond of the [name_f]Julia[/name_f]-name group but that’s just my own name taste and doesn’t matter here. And [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] also has a really nice flow so I would say you should go for it!
I think [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] would be lovely together! I don’t think changing their middle names is that big of a deal. Like you said, they have no concept of middle names yet. Good luck with everything!
I’m expect twin girls and one of my biggest fears is name regret.
I think it would be perfectly fine to change the middle names, especially since you love them so much. And I think [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is beautiful
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] are gorgeous, versatile names. I agree with pps that you should go for it.
I say go for it, change their middles to make it [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]! Middle names are not a big issue at all, especially since your children are too young to have any awareness of them. I am assuming your husband is on board with the idea of changing their names, particularly since [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] has an honor name for you that he picked out? That would be my one concern.
As a side note, I understand worrying that one day [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] will be upset that the name [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] was shifted to [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], but just as easily she could someday hear that you almost changed her middle to [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and prefer that and be upset that you didn’t. When it comes to naming babies/small children you never really know if they will like the name or not, so it is always a gamble!
Finally, I think [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] and [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] are beautiful names, and certainly don’t feel dated to me. They are both classic names with lots of fun nickname opinions, and easily work for any age.
I think all the posters so far have given you wonderful advice and support. I really think you should change their middles if thats what you truly want, if your SO is on board. He chose the middle name [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] to honour you which is beautiful, but if he knows how much this is bothering you he might understand your wanting to change the middle names.
Another option which you’ve maybe thought of, would you consider two middle names? [name_m]Just[/name_m] adding your middle name of choice to each girls name. Yes it might make their names a little long, but it’s doable, and that way you could keep their current middles names and eliminate the worry about switching them. Ex. [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] & [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
Whatever you decide to do, I wish you all the best. And you should absolutely be confident in your daughter’s names, [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] and [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] are most beautiful names! They are so versatile and elegant and I definitely would not consider them out of style or dated.
I agree with pps! [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] are beautiful! [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] and [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] are definitely not dated and I don’t see them becoming so for a very long time. Very classic.
Maybe you could talk with your SO about how you feel about [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], especially if it is something that will stay in your mind, even if you change [name_f]Adriana[/name_f]'s middle name to that name. Maybe he can think of an even better option!
Good luck with everything!
I guess my opinion here is different than the previous posters’, but, to me, I don’t think you should change them unless YOU really want to. But, from what I read it doesn’t sound to me like YOU really want to; to me it seems like your family has made you self-conscious about something that you felt confident about at some point. Those names are perfectly nice, not at all dated, and they have no reason to dislike them other than personal preference. They certainly aren’t names the girls would be embarrassed about later on. I can be a very indecisive and worry-prone person, and if you are anything like me, you may end up second-guessing your new name choices if you change them. For instance, I do think it could legitimately cause friction knowing that [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] was switched over to the other baby.
Also, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] and [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], much better than the option you are thinking of changing it to (though that one is nice as well). I think it is cool that they don’t share any initials, and something about both names is just so spunky! Also, they are nicely balanced as a twin set.
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] sounds so nice I kinda want to steal it! Haha! Both [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] & [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] are stunning names. <3 But have you ever thought of making it Juliette Adriana? Giselle & Juliette seems like a good twin set
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]! They have gorgeous names. I encourage you to not worry about popularity or rankings. They have beautiful names you lovingly chose.

I much prefer [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! I love the matching middle initials of [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], to create a subtle connection with their names. I love that [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] honours your dad, even if he isn’t aware of that I think it is a beautiful token to him. And lastly, I love the look of [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] over [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], you get the pleasant repeating J sound without the look of a G- G- combination. That’s just personal preference on looks of a name tho!
Anyway, all the best again. I truly hope you feel more at peace with their names after you’ve worked through all this.
Columbiacharm, Thank you for your opinion. I was 99.9% sure, but your comment put me over to 100% because I agree entirely. That made a lot of sense. We are signing off the paperwork and I must say I have never felt better. Closing this book and moving on. I am now so very happy with their names! Name berries, you really came through for me.
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] flows better than [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] and [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is gorgeous. I know what it’s like to beat yourself up about something and look too far into it, but if you feel you’re happy then go for it! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t worry about what might happen when they’re older - they both have lovely names!
[name_f]Adriana[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are very pretty. [name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to suggest Aidy as a nickname for [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] in case you are looking for other options. [name_f]Ana[/name_f] could also work.
As for popularity, it looks like both names had peak popularity about 10 years ago, but I wouldn’t say they are “plummeting.” Maybe there was something in pop culture to make them spike a few years ago, who knows. Both are still pretty popular and I don’t think they sound dated. [name_f]Adriana[/name_f] fits in with [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] that are popular now, and [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] fits in with [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f].
