hello, I attempted to post before, so sorry if this gets repeated! Anyway I want to go by a different name for the next school year and have wanted to for years! I have always disliked my name, because I have had bad experiences with other [name_f]Paige[/name_f]'s, teachers made fun of me and I just hate how common it is where I live. I know at least 5 [name_f]Paige[/name_f]'s, one is my cousin, the other used to be a friend.
I love unique and uncommon, yet pretty names. I like common names like [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], but can’t use them for family reasons. I like [name_f]Pink[/name_f] and [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f], but am afraid they are too unusual.
Names I love but can’t use:
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Larissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Celestia[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]
[name_f]Diantha[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
I love unusual names that are gems, nature or plants. My favourite flowers are [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] of the valley. I love night and stars and the moon. I love nature a lot. I really do like [name_f]Pink[/name_f] and [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f], but lots of people don’t. I hate how easily others influence my choices, but I’m quite sensitive, and take everything people say to heart. [name_f]Pink[/name_f] is good because it is similar to my current name. I just like it better, but there must be a better name. I hope this post is okay to go here and doesn’t offend anybody, I know I have a bad taste, I just like unusual names for some weird reason. Thanks for reading!

I changed my name at 14 as well (that’s seven years ago now) and I’d just like to advise you that your tastes in names may well shift throughout the years. I personally wouldn’t pick the same name now if I had to choose again at this point, it’s a bit too frilly and “out there” for me now. I’m not saying you’ll definitely have the same experience of course, but I feel like if you go for something more classic and “neutral” it’d be more likely you’d avoid name regret in the future. You could always add a more “out there” name like [name_f]Pink[/name_f], [name_f]Celestia[/name_f] or [name_f]Briar[/name_f] as an (extra) middle name, too!
I’d also pick something that doesn’t sound too off for your generation. As you are 14 many names that are popular for babies right now won’t sound strange on you, but I’d avoid names that only came into widespread use in the past 5 years or so ([name_u]Arya[/name_u], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_u]Paisley[/name_u] etc).
Suggestions based on names you like:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] or [name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] or [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Arielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f]

[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
Thank you all for your suggestions! I am really going to think it over, and hopefully I’ll find a name that really speaks to me! I love all the suggestions too!
A few ideas popped into my head as I read this. I don’t know how many of these are usable for you, but I hope you like at least one of them! Sorry for repeats, consider them me seconding precious posters.
[name_f]Marisol[/name_f]: if you can’t use [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_f]Marisol[/name_f] isn’t too close, [name_f]Marisol[/name_f] seems like a good choice! It feels sunny and classic while fitting into the modern world. It isn’t too uncommon while still being distinctive.
[name_f]Astera[/name_f]: feels spunky with a touch of quietly floral. It’s distinctive, but not in an in-your-face way. (Not that those names are bad, just that you seem to want to avoid them for personal reasons. People can be so casually mean about names.) [name_f]Astera[/name_f] seems like a versatile name to me, one that could be molded to fit any personality perfectly without seeming generic.
[name_f]Lilac[/name_f]: too out there? Probably, but I thought I’d suggest it in case it isn’t. This name could cause pronunciation problems but it’s gorgeous.
Eirlys: it’s a Welsh name meaning, I believe, snowdrop. The ei is pronounced like ay, but you might want to look up the pronunciation as I’m terrible at writing these things out. You live in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] so again, maybe too out there, but have it on your radar.
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]: I just think it’s a pretty name.
[name_f]Ailana[/name_f]: I think this means light bearer? [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t quote me on that but I’m reasonably sure.
Étoile: means star. Usability? You decide.
I might update this with more names. I totally get loving “strange” names, although I tried to not put too many here. Good luck!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m],
I really do think your name is beautiful and wouldn’t need changing but yes, if you haven’t enjoyed living with it there are so many options.
As you like the name [name_f]Pink[/name_f], whilst it is my favourite colour i can’t say I’ve thought of it as a name, though I do think it works very well, unique and pretty.
Other colour suggestions…
[name_f]Magenta[/name_f]… love this as you can abbreviate to [name_f]Mag[/name_f] or [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] if wanted.
[name_u]Cyan[/name_u]… similar to [name_f]Sian[/name_f]
Alternatively have you considered names along the lines of [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as that could suit your style if you prefer.
Good luck deciding, I hope you find something you really like.
