Genre of [name_u]Story[/name_u]:(Romance, Sci-Fi, Historical, [name_f]Fantasy[/name_f] etc): Dystopia/Romance/YA
Time Period/Location:(e.g 1912, Djibouti): Distant future
Brief Plot:(You don’t have to give everything away but any important facts should be included here, for example: the new [name_m]King[/name_m] banned any names beginning with the letter A): The world is in ruins after a nuclear type of thing, and an evil government is trying to take control.
Character Names:: (List the character names you want assessed for cohesion here): [name_m]Cove[/name_m] Hartford and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] [lastnamehere]
Anything else?:(Any other relevant information) I don’t want any alliteration in the names (ie. [name_f]Kate[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]). Also, I still need a last name for Anastasia.
I like [name_m]Cove[/name_m] Hartford, and I think the names [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] and [name_m]Cove[/name_m] go well together. I think a mix of edgier, futuristic names (like [name_m]Cove[/name_m]) mixed with old-fashioned names picked by people who want to remember the past (like [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]). I suggest you create a nickname for [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], though, because it’s a bit of a mouthful. I mean, every now and then in heated moment or when she’s in trouble you’ll want to use her full name (as in, for example, a fight scene, instead of saying [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or whatever nn you choose, the other character could yell “[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], watch out!”, or if she were in trouble her mother/father/guardian could yell “[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] [middle name] [last name], get down here right now!” or something like that) but just in general you’ll probably want a nickname. It can be something derived from her name (Like [name_f]Annie[/name_f]/[name_f]Anne[/name_f] or, if you want something more futuristic, [name_f]Stasia[/name_f] or [name_f]Asia[/name_f]) or something based on her appearance/attitude.
As for her last name…I’m really bad at last names. But you’ll want something that flows. Think about her heritage–Where her ancestors originally Polish? Then you might want something like Kazinski. Where they [name_f]Asian[/name_f]? You might want something like [name_m]Chen[/name_m]. Where they [name_f]Indian[/name_f]? Patel. You get it. If you want something more traditionally American (like Hartford), use a more common name (like [name_m]Smith[/name_m] or [name_m]Wilson[/name_m]). You want it more unusual? Throw together some common name pieces to make something not quite as predictable (ei, Hartford). Like [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] [name_m]Bowman[/name_m] or Mellegard. That sort of thing.
I agree with @stardust17, [name_m]Cove[/name_m] and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] work well for a dystopian future. What is [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]'s background? That’d be really helpful in finding her last name.
