Character Name for new novel

Hello…

I am going to start a new novel soon, and I have the entire story except for one small detail : the main character’s name.

This is important because I need the name to fit my character as well as possible. I’ve been searching for the right name for a while now, but haven’t been able to decide on a final answer to my problem.

So I’m going to describe my character and hopefully I’ll get a reply to help me decide.

My character is 13 years old, a bit heavier-set than most people her age, and tall. Her weight is not that noticeable, but it is to her.

She is kind and considerate, and loves little children, but at home she often gets into terrible arguments and it leads her to wonder about if she is a good person or not.

Also, she struggles with anxiety and severe depression, and is constantly tense and many times worried.

She is fighting to hold on to her will to live and tries very hard to keep going. She has never given up, and although it would be easy to, she never does.

She loves to read and write novels, and dreams about one day becoming a published author.

She is a wonderful poet and loves walking barefoot in summer and running in the rain.

She is strong, although sometimes she doesn’t know it, and she tries to be polite to everyone.

Last of all, she is worried about her father, whom she hasn’t seen in a long time, and if he has changed since she stopped seeing him.

All right. So that is my character, and as you can see, it is a complicated task naming her.

Please reply and tell me what you think…and which one would be the best fit!

Also, I am open to mixing and matching of names (example: [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] becomes [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f]) including switching letters or order of first and middles in any way.

[name_m]New[/name_m] names entirely are also welcome.

Since you seem to like the “ana” or names ending in “a” maybe you would like…?

Maybe instead of “[name_f]Anamaria[/name_f]” you could do “[name_f]Anamarie[/name_f]” or even “[name_f]Annmarie[/name_f]”
As for your choices I really like “[name_f]Christina[/name_f]” I think it really fits
Maybe a middle name for [name_f]Christina[/name_f] could be “[name_u]Rene[/name_u]”?

I love the name [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], especially with the nickname [name_f]Bea[/name_f]. It is sweet and reminds me of a strong person, and since your character is strong enough to go through anxiety and depression, I think it would fit nicely. I also would like to add the name [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], with nicknames [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f]! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps, and I wish you luck on your novel! :smiley:

I think [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] nn [name_f]Bea[/name_f] from your choices really suits her. The name [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] also came to mind while reading about her, and I second the suggestion of [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] nn [name_f]Cassie[/name_f].

Also, I forgot to add that Nora or Norah is one of the options.

I am thinking about making it “Isabel Nora” and just calling her Nora.
