Character name help, please.

I am writing a story about a young woman who is a single mother to her four-year-old daughter [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. She is a free-spirited, stubbornly independent, accepting, warm, and very loving and wise woman with a big heart. She is hopeful and encouraging, yet soft-spoken. She can be passionate and fierce. She is an author, so she is very creative.
[name_f]My[/name_f] dilemma? Her name.
I originally named her [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] “[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]”, but I’m not so sure if it’s all that fitting. (Maybe [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]? Possibly too sweet and innocent for her?)
I was originally looking for something old lady-ish or otherwise elegant, romantic even, with possibly a cute and fun nickname.
Surname: [name_u]Gray[/name_u].
All suggestions welcome.

Thank you!

I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] or maybe [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] instead as a nn…

I also think [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] with [name_f]Dotty[/name_f] as a nn would fit - [name_f]Dotty[/name_f] sounds creative and maybe a little eccentric to me.
