Character Names Conundrum

[name_m]Hi[/name_m],

I’d like some naming advice on my main characters for a comic like story that I’m starting to write.

Girls:

[name_f]Daria[/name_f] Akiko Asada

In your opinion does the two “A” names clash with each other, if they do can you suggest some other Japanese names middle flow better?

[name_f]Katrin[/name_f] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] Eisler

[name_f]Katrin[/name_f] is my favourite variation of [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], but do you think readers will think it’s a typo for [name_f]Katrina[/name_f]?

[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] ([name_f]Cammie[/name_f]) [name_m]York[/name_m]

Can Anyone suggest a good middle names that have a country influence and has a natural flow to it?

[name_f]Bree[/name_f]/[name_f]Belle[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]/[name_f]Sheilah[/name_f] [name_m]Weaver[/name_m]

Originally it was [name_f]Bree[/name_f], but with the cheese connection I’m second guessing myself. I really like [name_f]Sheilah[/name_f] but does it sound too old for a story set in modern times? [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] would be nice especially with the [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_m]Parks[/name_m] connection, but does it sound to frilly? Also if I choose belle I can’t think of any good middle name combination with the weaver last name, does anyone have any suggestions?

I’ve got the male names down already, but I need one more that goes with [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_m]York[/name_m] because they are twins.

[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_m]York[/name_m]

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think that it sounds very cheesy since they both share the letter “C.” Also if you do think so do you have any suggestions for a first name with a similar feel to it?

Thanks for Your Advice!

I think Akiko Asada is fine…I think it WOULD clash if the first name ended in an ‘A’ and the next name started in an 'A," but that’s not the case here.

Maybe at first glance readers will think [name_f]Katrin[/name_f] is a typo? I think you should definitely use it though, if you like it. IF readers think it’s supposed to be [name_f]Katrina[/name_f], once see the name continually spelled [name_f]Katrin[/name_f], it will be obvious to them that it’s not a typo.

Hmm…
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_f]Maybelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_f]Maryellen[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_u]Willie[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]

[name_f]Sheilah[/name_f]'s actually my favorite name out of those four!

Some middle names for [name_f]Belle[/name_f]? Maybe something long, since [name_f]Belle[/name_f]'s only one syllable?
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Annalisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] Genevieva
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephina[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]

Hmm…maybe. It’s not really a pattern until it’s three, though, right? Maybe if they were triplers - [name_u]Cody[/name_u], [name_f]Camillia[/name_f] & [name_u]Carson[/name_u], I would call it cheesy.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that helped!

Right now, I just woke up and cant give and good advice without sounding drunk. However, I’m curious on [name_f]Daria[/name_f]; is she fully Japanese? Because I’d just like to point out that the Japanese don’t give middle names. [name_m]How[/name_m] old is [name_f]Daria[/name_f]? The -ko suffix fell out of trend in the 80’s or 90’s Japan, I think. Akika, Akimi, or [name_u]Akira[/name_u] would probably be better if she was a younger character. I like Akimi the best. So:

Akimi Asada
[name_u]Akira[/name_u] Asada
Akika Asada

If she’s not full Japanese, I think [name_f]Daria[/name_f] would be the better middle if her parents had even given her one.
