Charles or Joseph

Hi berries!

Which name do you prefer, Charles or Joseph? Charles would likely go by a nickname consistently (Charlie, Huck, Cal, Archie, etc), whereas Joseph would likely be exclusively Joseph.

Does one name flow better with Frances, Eleanor, and Henry?

Thanks!

Edited to add … does Philip fit any better? Do you like it more with Frances, Eleanor, & Henry?

I personally prefer Joseph. I think Charles flows better with Frances, Eleanor, and Henry but Joseph flows well with those too.

I prefer [name_m]Charles[/name_m]! [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] & [name_u]Cal[/name_u] would be adorable. I really like how [name_m]Charles[/name_m] vibes with [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & [name_m]Henry[/name_m], too.

Are there nicknames for [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Ooh, I love [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I personally prefer [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] a little bit. It feels softer to me, but still strong at the same time. :woman_facepalming: Maybe that makes sense! I do love [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] & [name_u]Cal[/name_u] though even more than [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. I guess it just depends on whether or not you want to use a nn. I don’t doubt that you will at least get [name_m]Joe[/name_m] & [name_u]Joey[/name_u] occasionally whether you prefer it or not if you use the name [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like those a little bit? I’m not a fan myself, which is a reason why I would never use [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] despite loving the full name.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] if the others don’t have a nickname, [name_m]Charles[/name_m] if they all have a nickname. Although I think [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] suits the quiet strength of the set best.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are almost exclusively [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is sometimes [name_u]Fran[/name_u] or [name_u]Frankie[/name_u].

Thank you all so much! I love both names, that’s the problem. What about [name_m]Philip[/name_m]? Does [name_m]Philip[/name_m] go better or do you prefer it more?

I don’t love the Joe/Joey nicknames but that’s not something that would keep me fr using the name.

I prefer [name_m]Charles[/name_m] if you don’t like the inevitable nn [name_m]Joe[/name_m].

[name_m]Ah[/name_m] I thought if they all went by nicknames then [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_u]Cal[/name_u] etc would work better but I think if they don’t really, then [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] works better. I prefer [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], but [name_m]Philip[/name_m] fits really nicely too. Really nice classic sibset

Both are among my favourite names so that’s hard to choose! I think I prefer Charles’ strong and solid feel  [name_m]Philip[/name_m] fits well too.

Hmm…with no nickname I think [name_m]Philip[/name_m]. It feels more distinct than [name_m]Charles[/name_m] to me. I think it helps that I don’t care for just [name_u]Phil[/name_u]. I like [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] more as a name, though, but mostly because I love the friendly Joe/Joey nicknames that you don’t like :slightly_smiling_face:

I prefer [name_m]Charles[/name_m]! It goes nicely with [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & [name_m]Henry[/name_m]

I prefer [name_m]Charles[/name_m] in this sibset! [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names.

[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
