Charlotte James?

What do you think of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]? Pretty or weird? Better to stick to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]?

Here are some other one-syllable middles I have considered (and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is out):

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - pretty, but very expected
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] - just ok
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] - too close to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] Russe
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] - not sure about this one either

I would like to stick to a one-syllable middle (to match DD1) but I suppose I’m open to others.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] was our runner-up name for DD1; despite the popularity, I just can’t get over this name!

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] are my favorites. I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] is frilly and girly but at the same time has an edge. I prefer [name_m]Jaymes[/name_m] or [name_m]Jaimes[/name_m] for a girl because I think that those spellings are slightly more feminine but [name_u]James[/name_u] works just as well.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! [name_u]James[/name_u] is so very celebrity trendy.

I prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! Or how about [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]?

I adore [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I am not fond of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]. I honestly do not understand the love of [name_u]James[/name_u] for a girl. If it is to honor a [name_u]James[/name_u] there is better ways to honor…in my opinion. I already find it neutral for a boy and putting it on a girl makes me dislike it. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are all beautiful, spunky combos.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is nice. [name_u]James[/name_u] on a girl isn’t nice.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] does have a certain charm.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] also

This is an unpopular opinion on Nameberry, but I don’t mind [name_u]James[/name_u] on a girl as a middle name. I wouldn’t use it as a first because it’s predominantly masculine and people would constantly be thinking she’s a boy, but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] definitely works. It feels classic and spunky at the same time, and is more unexpected than [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. That being said, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is lovely. I also like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the honesty and I totally see what you mean about [name_u]James[/name_u] not being fit for a girl…

I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f] but it’s already my DD’s middle

I’ll have to give more thought to the others as I just don’t think I’ve hit a home run.

I have a forum for suggestions for first names for the middle [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] but it may work.

I would like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] if [name_u]James[/name_u] had some sort of family significance, but if it doesn’t I prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but I love it with [name_u]James[/name_u]. Very nice combo!

My thoughts as well. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is lovely! And I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], too. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], imo, is a little too common. One is a top 10 name and the other is like every third person you meet (at least for me–I have known more Graces than any other name). So, yes, I would most definitely stick with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] gets my vote!
