The last name is one syllable. I’m torn between which name works best in the middle spot.
Charlotte Josephine flows the best with a one syllable last name, and I like the C.J. initials. On the other hand, Charlotte is an honor name and super popular right now, so I’m inclined to put it in the middle spot. What do you think?

If you like the CJ initials and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is important to you, I say go for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] first!
It may be a little popular, but there are so many nicknames: CJ, [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_u]Jo[/name_u], Lottie… It’ll be easy for her to stand out!

I’m team [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] in the first name slot! I think the extra length works brilliantly with a single-syllable surname, it’s classic but not as common as [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], and it sounds like it’s a name chosen simply because you love it.
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] has some great potential nicknames too. I’ve heard [name_u]Pip[/name_u] or [name_f]Posy[/name_f] used, both of which I think are adorable and fresher than [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] or [name_u]Jo[/name_u].

I voted for Josephine Charlotte because;
1.) trying it out with one syllable last names, the flow seems great!
2.) It sounds like you prefer Josephine overall, and Charlotte is mostly an option because of its honor name status. It might be confusing having two Charlottes. Plus, I think it’s nice for a child to have his or her own name.
3.) I just prefer Josephine! Obviously, it’s your preference that matters, but to me, Josephine seems more lively than Charlotte. I imagine a Charlotte as very sweet, quiet, and demure. Josephine seems to have more vim. And while I’m all for using names you love, I get that popularity can cause names to lose their shine.

I understand the desire for great name flow, but I would not put that over my favorite of the two names going first.
