[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is my favorite. It fits any personality, and I like that it would be hard to tell the age of a [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] based on her name.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] has similar qualities, but it’s quite popular for children in my area and I’m getting slightly tired of it.
I prefer [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is nice but it feels a little overdone to me. [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is a solid classic with versatile nicknames, and I love this spelling of it.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] feels a little more updated and spunky. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is a such a fun nickname. Can’t think of a nickname for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] as cute as [name_u]Charlie[/name_u].
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] feels tailored, mature, vaguely dated. Nicknames could be [name_f]Cate[/name_f], [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_u]Kitty[/name_u]. Would be afraid of becoming a Cath/Cathy.
Prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] even though it’s trendier.
[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] so I might be biased but… [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. I’m also a lot younger than people would assume, and their first comment is at how old my name is. [name_f]My[/name_f] coworker’s wife is named [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], and he regularly jokes and says he likes the name [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] over [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I have no idea why or what the punchline is, but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] to some degree IS getting exhausted with children these days. I love being called [name_f]Cat[/name_f]. Some people are more playful and call me “kitty cat” or “lady cat”. It’s very sweet but it’s a strong name I feel, too.
I love Charlotte/Lottie ! I feel like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] nn [name_f]Charlee[/name_f] is a little over done in my circle but it may not be for you.
Tough choice, but I think I slightly prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - it has a softer sound while still having this understated grandeur and strength, it has the [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] link and I like the versatility of the nicknames!
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. So soft and graceful sounding. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nickname [name_f]Cate[/name_f], so tailored and strong sounding. Over the long haul seems more of a classic than [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], though less popular at the present.
I slightly prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but I love the nn [name_f]Cate[/name_f] (specifically with a C) for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. Can’t really go wrong with either name. They’re both beautiful and classic.
I think they’re both great!! [name_u]Love[/name_u] nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Cat[/name_f] for Catherine…the only drawback to [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] in my mind is the alternate spelling [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] or even [name_f]Katharine[/name_f], and the only drawback to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is popularity/overuse. Neither problem is a particularly big deal though!
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] might seem a bit more distinctive/vintage at this particular moment.
