I prefer the name [name_f]Lila[/name_f], I think it’s so lovely. And I think [name_f]Lila[/name_f] being simple, light and very pretty is balanced very nicely with the more old-fashioned and sturdy [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].

[name_m]Both[/name_m] names are gorgeous! I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] better.

I prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. They would be a regal pair as both are the names of Queens of [name_f]England[/name_f]. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is pretty but it doesn’t have the majestic strength to match sister [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].

I love both individually, but sisters [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] “[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]” and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] “[name_f]Addie[/name_f]” are meant to be.

Agree, love both but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is best with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is gorgeous tho, so either way you’ll be fine. GL!

Are you planning on using a nn? Or just [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]? I love the flow and appearance of [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (and och! [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] are so adorable together!), but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], and if [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]'s on the table, that beats out [name_f]Lila[/name_f] for me anyday. I really love both [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and most of its nns, though, so I could be persuaded to go in either direction. Without more knowledge, though, I’d have to go for [name_f]Lila[/name_f].

Good luck!

I was going to vote for [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] definitely works better with [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] so it gets my vote here. What about [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lila[/name_f]?

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is absolutely stunning and sounds so strong and regal like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]! Plus, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] gives you the cute nicknames, [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] out of the two. I am in love with the name [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and I think it goes beautifully with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_m]Trevor[/name_m].

With [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and overall, I prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

Thank you for all of the votes and comments!

The votes are currently 22 to 23 - which is pretty much how I feel when debating between these two names!

To answer a few questions…

I think we would use Charlie as a nickname, as we are a nickname family. I also like Lola, although I know this nickname choice is not as popular. I know I’m in the minority, but I’m not a huge fan of Lottie.

I do agree that Trevor, Adelaide and Charlotte make a great sibset - with Adelaide and Charlotte both being “royal names.”

I had both names on my list when I was pregnant with Adelaide. As I have shared on previous threads, my dad passed away in August of 2012 and I really want to honor him with the name we choose. Charlotte was a name my dad loved when I was pregnant before. My dad’s middle name was Joseph - which is why we like Josephine for the middle spot (have considered it for the first name, but think we’d rather keep it in the middle as we like to use family names there).

Lila was also on my list since long ago. There is just something so sweet about it to me - especially with one of the meanings I have come across - “you are mine” in Hebrew. I also have always liked names that end in -a. My only hesitation with Lila is that it seems short in comparison to Adelaide. However, we mostly call her Addy anyway.

I think this may come down to making a decision when we see her! At least I know that we’ve got two strong contenders!

Please keep the votes and feedback coming! Thanks!!

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] by far! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] goes amazingly well with [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and works great with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]!

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]! [name_m]Trevor[/name_m], [name_f]Addy[/name_f] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is perfection! I love the nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] (and the nn’s [name_f]Char[/name_f] and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] haha). I do think [name_f]Lola[/name_f] works as a nickname, even if it means a bit of explaining. I mean, it’s not obvious, but when you look at the letters, it works. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is so gentle and pretty, and is wonderful with both [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] ([name_f]Addy[/name_f]).

[name_f]Lila[/name_f] is pretty too, it just isn’t “enough” next to [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. [name_m]Trevor[/name_m], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] feel a bit older and stronger while [name_f]Lila[/name_f] feels light and fluffy next to them.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is so pretty! But then again, so is [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. You can’t go wrong, and matching a sibset isn’t the most important thing. Pick the name you and your family love! You are honouring your father with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], don’t worry too much about which FN he liked as well. Think about it, which name can you see yourself saying everyday for about the rest of your life? Which one will sound right? Maybe just wait until you meet your little girl, then decide.
