Charlotte vs Eleanor

Popularity asides, which name do you prefer and why?

How do you envision the character of a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]?

Would not be nicknaming the names so the comparison would be in using the full name either way.

I really love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! I think it would suit anybody as it kind of has vintage vibes, but is still well used now! It sounds lovely on a little girl because of how soft it is but it still has a sort of elegance and sophistication for when she’s older!

I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! It’s very whimsical and soft to me. I’m usually not a nickname fan, but [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or El/Elle are very cute. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is very vintage and well known, so I don’t think you could go wrong with it. I also really like the [name_m]Tolkien[/name_m] and Elvish spelling [name_f]Elanor[/name_f]!

I love both names! If I had to choose, I’d choose [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I like how it sounds and all of the nickname possibilities

eleanor 1000%!! the sound is just so much more appealing and it has a sweeter vibe.

i imagine someone who’s a bit quiet, but really strong and wise, maybe a bit of an old soul.

I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] better! So feminine and so pretty!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I love love love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I feel like it’s bold & strong but super feminine w/out being frilly. And I also love that it has a smart, curious, adventurous vibe.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is nice enough, but it doesn’t sparkle for me. It doesn’t have a pleasant of a sound as [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] in my opinion. And [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] just doesn’t feel as interesting in general.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is my favorite girl name ever! I love how sophisticated, elegant and down to earth it feels. I picture a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] as strong and sensible, with a genuine personality. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is bold and fearless!

Both names are beautiful, but I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! I have always been fond of names that start with [name_f]El[/name_f]. I picture [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as a studious person, perhaps a bookworm, while I imagine [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] as an outgoing and sporty girl.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] definitely! Sounds so much younger and less fussy. It might be in the running for my baby but my neighbors recently named their daughter [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] no nickname though! Its very pretty.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is an old lady to me :joy:

I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]!

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] gets my vote!

I love both but [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] has the slight edge for me. It’s strong and elegant

I used to like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] but I had a bad association and now I can only hear “harlot” :frowning:
So I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].

In comparing just the full names, I would say [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

Most berries will disagree but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]! I also think that it is less likely to be nicknamed

Well, you just ruined this name for me-

Both are lovely, traditional names. They have a very similar vibe to me. I would choose [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as my favourite, but I do think I’m subtly infIuenced by Charlotte’s popularity, even though I’m trying not to be. If [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] was everywhere and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] more unusual I suspect I would think that was my favourite.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! It’s comeback from being an old name to sounding whimsical and fun and creative. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name
