Was talking to my bf about baby names (not expecting or TTC but hopefully in a few years) and he really loves [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]! I do too but I was always passing it over since it’s so popular. What do you think of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]? Is it too popular to use? [name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] and my bfs is [name_m]John[/name_m] and we were born in the 90s so we obviously had very popular names and lived lol Any unique middle name suggestions? I have [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] on my list so we could call her CC and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is after my bfs mom Cl@ra! Any comments would be appreciated
I absolutely love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], regardless of popularity! I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] ‘CC’ is darling (I love the nickname [name_f]Cece[/name_f]/CC).
Other unique ideas where you could still have the nickname CC:
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Calvina[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Carina[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Catalin[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Circe[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Casey[/name_u]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Clary[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Clarisse[/name_f]
I really like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]! I also think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] isn’t quite as popular as it seems because chances are some will always go by [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], [name_f]Char[/name_f], etc and never by [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] in full. It also doesn’t sound like any other popular names.
Charlotte is one of my all time favorites!
I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is very sweet, despite its popularity! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is also very nice.
Charlotte is our girl option, it’s a great name and is popular for a reason - classic, feminine yet not frilly, versatile nickname options, etc. You’ll just have to decide how much the popularity bothers you - for us it’s not an issue but I know some people have stronger opinions
I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] no matter how popular it is. It’s classic, regal and sweet, with tons of nicknames option that can make the difference. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is lovely, and [name_f]Cece[/name_f] is a nice nickname.
I have [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] on my own list, sometimes [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]. I think that using a little bit out there middle when the first name is a classic makes the combo more attractive.
For example, maybe [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] sounds too common, but you can use the meaning of [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and look for others names:
- Charlotte [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
- Charlotte [name_f]Bertha[/name_f]
- Charlotte [name_f]Roxana[/name_f]
- Charlotte [name_f]Niamh[/name_f]
- Charlotte [name_m]Ziv[/name_m]
- Charlotte [name_f]Keren[/name_f]
- Charlotte [name_u]Lux[/name_u]

@SoJoCo the name is just so beautiful so the more I think about it the popularity doesn’t bother me! Thanks!

I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I think it’s such a classic name that it’s current popularity doesn’t necessarily make it trendy.
There are plenty of associations, too, so not one good or bad should stand out to anyone.
Well just going off experience as I am a Charlotte. I’ve never had one negative comment about my name. It’s versatile as I was a Lottie when little and a Charlie in university. I always mostly get Charlie now. I don’t think you can really go wrong with the name. The only downside is that it is very popular. But if that doesn’t bother you then great.
My middle name is Abigail. Which means Father’s joy
If popularity would bother you, then [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is not a good choice. Personally, I used to like the name but I heard it too often and it lost its shine.
Hi there.
Charlotte is a nice name. It’s classic, smart, feminine but not fussy. It is super popular though, & that would personally bother me a lot. That being said, if you call her CC, she would stand out from all of the Charlottes & Charlies. I’d just go ahead & spell it [name_f]Cece[/name_f]. That looks cuter to me. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is good, but why not just [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]? That honors [name_f]Clara[/name_f] more directly, it flows better, & [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is a more interesting name than [name_f]Claire[/name_f] in my opinion.
Here are a few other mn options:
Charlotte [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
Charlotte [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
Charlotte [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
Charlotte [name_f]Emily[/name_f]
Charlotte [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
Charlotte [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
Charlotte [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
Charlotte [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
Hope this helps.
Thanks! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] does flow well so we could go with that! And yes, I agree that it should be spelled [name_f]Cece[/name_f] since that’s so much cuter than CC!
I also love your suggestions of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]!
If it’s a name you both love, that’s what matters most.
Having a less common nn like CC is a nice way to differentiate when your child has a very popular name.
I don’t think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] being popular is a big deal since you plan on using nicknames! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] also can be shortened to [name_f]Char[/name_f], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], and I’ve even seen [name_f]Dot[/name_f] and [name_f]Cara[/name_f].
Charlotte [name_f]Claire[/name_f] sounds lovely
I think that despite being popular, it is a timeless beautiful name.
