[name]Chelsea[/name] was big in the early 80’s, and I haven’t met any under about 18 years old. It seems feminine to me but not frilly. Impressions of this name?
This is probably wishful thinking, but if it did come back I’d like to see it as a more popular unisex name along the lines of [name]Jordan[/name] or [name]Taylor[/name].
I think it’s very dated.
I like [name]Chelsea[/name]…but only for a girl…sorry cka…but I’m sure you wear it well
Interesting take. You know, I’ve known boys with the names [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Jordan[/name], [name]Kelly[/name] and [name]London[/name] (from your list), but never a [name]Chelsea[/name]. Now I have to look at it from a new angle!
I think it’s a good contender for a comeback.
LOL! I am sure most people would agree with you because that was what made it so popular for girls. I don’t get offended by that. I know I am not unique in being the only guy named [name]Chelsea[/name] and so I would just love to see it break out a bit more for boys - but honestly I doubt it - especially with the demographic. There is a slew of mom’s now named [name]Chelsea[/name] and most family’s will not name their son after their mom or aunt, etc so I think it would need another 20-40 years of not being used much before it could be adopted by the boys again.
I can see [name]Chelsea[/name] being appealing on a guy. I’v always liked the name [name]Chelsea[/name] though.
[name]Chelsea[/name] has actually remained in the Top 100 in Australia over the last 15 years.
So it hasn’t lost it’s popularity here.

It’s dated.
Same answer for me. [name]Chelsea[/name] is pretty dated, but I’ve always liked it… and it’s interesting for a guy! I mean, I love [name]Lindsey[/name] and [name]Mackenzie[/name] on guys, [name]Chelsea[/name] fits in there, I think.
I became a soccer fan a few years ago, so now all I think of is [name]Chelsea[/name] FC (who beat Barca yesterday! Woohoo!)
[name]Chelsea[/name] feels masculine now and since it’s a place name it is unisex- like [name]London[/name] and [name]Paris[/name]
A girl [name]Chelsea[/name] would be dated but for a boy it sounds great- I imagine a little boy named [name]Chelsea[/name] [name]Blue[/name]
Many former boy names now sound dated on girls ([name]Shannon[/name], [name]Courtney[/name], [name]Tracey[/name], [name]Ashley[/name]) so hopefully they’ll return to the boys
Definitely do not think its ready to come back yet… I grew up with [name]WAY[/name] too many of them.
I like it, don’t love but like it. For a girls name
[name]Love[/name] it…can’t help myself.
Btw, I love guys with “girl” names…something so sexy about it! So intriguing, endearing. I’ve known guys named [name]Laurie[/name], [name]Jocelyn[/name], [name]Ashley[/name], and [name]Sandy[/name]. Always found myself smitten right off the bat!
[name]Way[/name] dated, I know far too many teens by the name to consider it.
Nice to meet you! I’m 15 years old and my name is [name]Chelsea[/name]! I really love my name! There’s 5 other [name]Chelsea[/name]'s at my school of 400 students who are all under 18 years of age.
I think it was too recently popular to make a comeback, but no reason why it shouldn’t continue to be used, like any name that was popular in the 80s/90s.
No offense to the [name]Chelsea[/name] who has just posted but here in the UK I find it pretty downmarket. Most [name]Chelsea[/name]'s I hear of are aged between 9-15 years old so a little dated and not ready for a comeback. It peaked in 1996 in the UK at #34 and dropped out of the top 100 in 2004.
I think people only use the name Chelsea in the UK because their is a football (soccer) team named Chelsea Football Club and I guess supporters of that team may take a liking to the name for that reason!
Well being that it’s a place - name, I see it as unisex, but that being said, I find it very dated and in a total need of a rest, at least, if not be left alone completely forever.
