I’ve loved [name]Damien[/name] and [name]Griffin[/name] since I was about 12 or 13, and I will use [name]Damien[/name] for my first son, and I’m including [name]Griffin[/name] in my [name]Alexander[/name] combo (which you can see all my combos in my signature).

When I was young, like younger than 10, I wanted to rename myself as [name]Willow[/name], and it lasted for a while before I learned to really love my name, and I’m using it in my [name]Persephone[/name] combo now.

Those are the only names I really loved when I was younger, and I will use them because I still love them and besides that, they’re still relatively unique

My favorites growing up were always [name]Charles[/name] “[name]Charlie[/name]” and [name]Lily[/name]. [name]Both[/name] names are still on my list, but I’m always acquiring new names, so they get kind of tossed aside sometimes. I may very well use them someday, but I have a bunch of other names I’d love to use as well that are much “newer”.

Ranging from very young childhood through teenage years:

Girls
Susie, Jenny, Kitty, Katie, Cat - I still like them, but only as NNs. Actually even at the time I thought of them as nicknames. Husband hates most of these, except Katherine/Catherine, and he’s related to one.
Chelsea, Tamika, Topanga, Karen/Kara - It was the '80s-'90s, what do you want from me? :stuck_out_tongue: Outgrown.
Hannah, Lily, Emily, Caitlin - Still love them, but apparently so did every other girl my age and they’re ALL using them! Also my husband hates at least one of these due to a girl he knew.
Ramona & Naomi - Loved it, love it now, doesn’t work with new last name.

Boys
Jared, Harrison, Tyler - Names I loved at the time I can’t stand now. I have no longer ANY memory of what was so danged attractive about Tyler.
Jesse, Patrick, Ari, Ezra, Joaquin, Zane, Zachary, Raphael, Hawthorn - Names I loved then I still love that have been shoved down my list by my husband vetoing them because he hates them for assorted reasons.

I voted other because my main reasons for not using a lot of my favourites is a) Husband veto b) married name conflicts c) since I am older, more of my relatives have passed away and I want to honour them, something I didn’t worry about as a kid as I thought they’d live to be very old d) I’m not actually going to have a huge family like I always wanted so I just won’t get a chance to use some.

When I was around 11 I had a list that I was totally sure I would use on my future kids. It was all names that were of some kind of Irish origin and in alphabetically order…it didn’t last though lol. The only name I still love from that list is [name]Declan[/name] I think it’s an adorable name, unfortuntley I won’t ever use it (other than a possible MN someday) because it doesn’t fit it with the theme I have for my permanent list which are all names that were in the top 1,000 sometime during/between 1880’s - 1920’s and a million other “rules” that I won’t bore you with lol

When I was little (like, 3rd grade), I really liked [name]Lewis[/name] for a boy, and [name]Cosette[/name] for a girl. I still like them, but there not at the top of my list, and I would probably use them for middle names.

Edited for privacy.

My list is always changing! The names I loved when I was in 5th-6th grade were on my list for a long time, but I’ve definitely outgrown them. The names I remember are [name]Joshua[/name] (can’t remember his mn!), which I wouldn’t use now because of an ex, [name]Kayli[/name] [name]Marie[/name], and [name]Caleb[/name] [name]Austin[/name]. My current faves are in my signature.

My fave names from my teens were always [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Michael[/name]. I used [name]Michael[/name] for my first son as a middle name, but kind of wish I had gone for something more interesting, but I like that it’s a loved name. I won’t use [name]Katherine[/name] even though I love it as it feels a bit boring now.

I chose other because I’m not sure what’s on that list. I have it in a sealed envelope waiting to be opened when we get pregnant. I wrote the list at age 12 and am 30 now. Can’t wait to read it and see if the names I chose then are still faves.

I still have my childhood favourites! [name]Ella[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Adeline[/name],[name]Gabriel[/name], and [name]Ezra[/name] have sentimental reasons.

A lot of my favorite names are being used by friends and peers ([name]Margo[/name][t] was the one that really killed me) so I’m constantly having to revamp. Is it bad that I cringe when I find out another friend/relative is pregnant, and feel relieved when they name their kid [name]Isabella[/name] or something I wouldn’t use anyway?

Otherwise, a lot of names I liked when I was younger are finally becoming “acceptable” names now, and some are even slightly trendy. [name]Arabella[/name]? Yeah, I’m not doing anything with a “-bella”. I found a high school name list (it’s circa 2001-2002) that has my musings on middle names for [name]Magnolia[/name] (apparently I was considering [name]Tamsin[/name], [name]Hope[/name], [name]Belle[/name], [name]Estelle[/name], and [name]Josette[/name].) Others on the list: [name]Aurelia[/name], Avalie (what?), [name]Azalea[/name], [name]Cerelia[/name], Chenoa, Cheredith (what??), Emette (gross!), [name]Fable[/name], [name]Galatea[/name], [name]Keziah[/name], [name]Montgomery[/name] (yes, for a girl), and Nereia. I definitely grew out of these, even though I still have a soft spot for [name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Azalea[/name], [name]Cerelia[/name], [name]Fable[/name], and [name]Galatea[/name].

I think my boys names are what have evolved the most. On the same list as [name]Magnolia[/name] are: [name]Griffith[/name], [name]Dorian[/name] [name]Beau[/name], Corrigan, [name]Zebedy[/name], and [name]Ezekiel[/name] [name]Colin[/name]. I wouldn’t use any of those!

Some of them remain constant favorites, or at least make the “like” list, names like [name]Sonya[/name]. Others fizzled out, like Xanadu or Figaro. The name that seems to be somewhere between the two is [name]Charlene[/name]. I still have a bit of a soft spot for it, but can’t see myself really using it.

My first name loves at the age of about eight were [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]. I still love them, but now I have a cousin named [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] is so wildly popular I’ve had to knock them down a few pegs on my list. I still love [name]Georgiana[/name], but if a could justify it [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] would be at the top of my list.

[name]Hudson[/name] was never on my list until I met my fiance. The name [name]Dean[/name] however was on my list for years. I think I fell in love with it when I was 16. Many of my girl names are still on my list but many have gotten vetoed by my fiance.

When I was little, [name]Laura[/name] was my favourite name. I plan to use it for my first daughter to this day.

I loved [name]Sara[/name]. [name]Every[/name] stuffy and doll was named that! It’s evolved into [name]Seraphina[/name] now, since it’s not as expected or over used, but unfortunately there is already a [name]Sarah[/name] in the family, and the names are just too close. I also always loved [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Ava[/name], (after reading [name]Ava[/name] [name]Gardner[/name]‘s autobiography at 12) but they are way too popular now that I wouldnt’ use them. For boys [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Max[/name] are still faves, but I’m leaning more towards [name]Elliott[/name] ([name]Eli[/name]) and [name]Noah[/name] now. I also love [name]Marlowe[/name] (I studied renaissance lit) and Stillwell (grandmother’s maiden name). Hubby is a cowboy though so Chances are we’ll have a [name]Brooks[/name] or a [name]Remington[/name] for a boy and something classic like [name]Georgia[/name] or [name]Maybelle[/name] for a girl.

I used to love the name [name]Krista[/name] growing up, and would always make that my name when playing make-believe with my friends. And I loved the name [name]Zack[/name] for a boy… but I am not a huge fan of either of those names anymore… sometime in highschool I migrated over to loving the name [name]Claudia[/name] (with Italian pronunciation, -clow-dee-uh) (or for a boy, [name]Claudio[/name]) and [name]Leonardo[/name], and I still love them. Though not many people like the name [name]Claudia[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] has become so popular… My lists keep getting shorter and shorter!

[name]Seraphina[/name] could be Phina among family

My favorite girl names were [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Geneva[/name]. [name]Josephine[/name] still resides on a subconscious list somewhere.
