Legs and Inches: My worms when I was 5
Now:
[name]HEIDI[/name]!! My gorgeous tabby/white cat!!
When we were really little, my mom named all our cats after ice cream flavours. The only name I remember right now is Butterscoth Ripple.
We also had Norwegian Elkhound named Pickles. I think my sister named him when she was quite young.
I’ve had a [name]Rupert[/name], Kipling, [name]Norbert[/name], [name]Nat[/name], [name]Pippin[/name] ([name]Pip[/name]) and [name]Juniper[/name] ([name]Juni[/name]) - all cats
[name]Penny[/name] - dog
[name]Sidney[/name] - hamster
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Rupert[/name] and [name]Sidney[/name] for boys…but I could never use them!
And I love [name]June[/name] and [name]Penny[/name] for girls…same problem!
Oh well, there are lots of other names out there…I guess I’ll just have to be more careful not to give any pets a potentially awesome baby-name!
[name]Ralphy[/name] - A golden hamster I named after the book series “[name]Ralph[/name] S. Mouse”. He was a stray hamster my uncle found being chased by a cat in his front yard. Not joking!
[name]Miley[/name] - A [name]Jack[/name] [name]Russel[/name]-Beagel mix. Her previous owner had two daughters that named her after [name]Miley[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name] but we kept it the same because it was cute and it suited her well.
[name]GiGi[/name] and Milkshakes - Two stray cats I took care of during one summer. My sis named the younger one Milkshakes after [name]Billy[/name]'s cat from the TV show The Grim Adventures Of [name]Billy[/name] & [name]Mandy[/name]
[name]Chester[/name] - A hamster that was either going to be named [name]Charlie[/name] or [name]Chester[/name] but my sis and I favored more towards [name]Chester[/name].
[name]Suzy[/name], [name]Alexander[/name], and [name]Geraldine[/name] - A family of hamsters we rescued from a careless owner who put a male and female in the same cage. [name]Geraldine[/name] (nn [name]Gerry[/name]) was the only surviving hamster from [name]Suzy[/name] and [name]Alexander[/name]'s litter.
[name]Missy[/name] - Currently the one and only pet we have. She’s a pitbull mix. She’s very energetic and has a playful personality, which is why we named her [name]Missy[/name].
[name]Piper[/name]- my six-year-old chocolate lab! He’s a good boy! It took us forever to figure out his name, as my math-nerd sister and I were vying for Pi against my father who was adamant about naming the dog something that ended with “-er.” So, my mother, ever the mediator, amalgamated the two and voila! [name]Piper[/name] was born!
[name]Daisy[/name]- my one-year-old chocolate lab. She’s affectionately called "Doop. We occasionally ask if she wants to be driven somewhere.
[name]Koda[/name]- now, this five-month-old chocolate lab pup has a very interesting (and completely un-necessitated) back-story. [name]Piper[/name] found puppy love on Craigslist, had relations with a female named Botchi, and together they had nine beautiful puppies! We adopted [name]Koda[/name] and, after sampling a few names such as “Wiggleburg” and “[name]Milo[/name]”, we eventually settled on this. He looks a bit like a bear cub, so this name was inspired by both Brother [name]Bear[/name] and the kodiak bear.
[name]Tabby[/name] cat brothers - Butterfinger ([name]Orange[/name]) and [name]Flower[/name]/[name]David[/name] ([name]Black[/name]/[name]Grey[/name]) ([name]Flower[/name] was named after the skunk in bambi until friends said it was to girly so i changed his name to [name]David[/name])
Frogs - [name]Hopper[/name] and Legs
Anole Lizards - Nip and [name]Daisy[/name]
Chinese water dragon - [name]Kodiak[/name]
Bearded Dragon - [name]Tucker[/name] nn [name]Tuck[/name]

Husky/Rott/Chow mix - Dazzle*
[name]Tabby[/name] [name]Cat[/name] - Sherbert ([name]Orange[/name])

Beagle - [name]Copper[/name] [name]Penny[/name]
Chinese Dwarf Hamsters - Puffius [name]Maximus[/name] Greenikus Stonewell and Rummion [name]Tequila[/name] Vodka [name]Daniels[/name] (I was in college at the time when i named them )

Frog - [name]Glade[/name]
[name]Red[/name] eared slider turtles - Solid Snake, Paddles, and Kiwi*
My first two fish were [name]Tom[/name] and [name]Jerry[/name]. They were feeder fish I got a coupon for at a birthday party. We replaced [name]Jerry[/name] several times while [name]Tom[/name] lived almost a year.
[name]Ginger[/name] was the orange tabby we had for 16 years, named after my mom’s previous orange cat whose name was also [name]Ginger[/name]. I was six, and thought [name]Ginger[/name] was what you named orange cats.
When I taught preschool I had a class beta fish. The first was named Cosmos by my students. The second was named [name]Captain[/name] [name]Jack[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name]. The third, by that time a pet just for my husband and I at home, was Swarley. Fans of [name]How[/name] I Met Your Mother should get that one.
More recently, there was [name]Hermione[/name], a Russian dwarf hamster.
When she died after about two years we got [name]Hamlet[/name], also a dwarf hamster. Two days later “he” gave birth to six little hamsters and got a name change to [name]Ophelia[/name]. All the little hamsters got names from plays or musicals. The guys were Guildenstern ([name]Gil[/name]) and [name]George[/name], while the girls were [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Gwendolen[/name], Rosencrantz ([name]Rosie[/name]), and [name]Dot[/name]. [name]George[/name], [name]Cecily[/name], and [name]Gil[/name] are still with us!
